John Gens Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Hi this is my first time here Im going thru the process to have gastric by pass surgery so far I have lost 14 out of the 15 ponds need for surgery done the nutrient and rehab part have 3 more meetings and im doing the testing tomorrow hoping that my surgery date will be soon

Dr. Gens is the kindest, caring doctor I have ever met. He told me everything that I would experience and was 100% truthful. He saw me everday, even though I had complications unrelated to the procedure, he came everyday to see me. I recommend him to anyone considering gastric bypass surgery. My family felt very informed and involved because of his gentle ways.

He is fabulous, there is nothing about this man that I did not like. My surgery went fine and there were no complications.

Dr. Gens performed the gastric bypass surgery for my husband last year and my self just 10 days ago. Could not ask for a better surgeon from either point of view (spouse or patient). He is always pleasant and answers all of your questions. He is very "to the point".

Dr. Gens is great. He took the time to answer all of my questions, set me at ease, and did a fantastic job in the OR.

Wow I met my surgeon for the first time today. I was almost in awe. There will pretty much be three men that will make a life impression on me, one is my husband...the second is my son and the third is John Gens. I immediatly felt a trust which doens't usually happen with doctors. His office staff seemed pleasant and the office was comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Looking forward to meeting with him again.

I met Docter Gens once. I will see him again on in a few days. My first impression of him is that he is very "matter of fact". He is straight forward and is a "tell it like it is" Docter. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Dr. Gens answered every question and is no doubt, the best Surgeon I could have chosen for this procedure.

Dr. gens is great. He is patient and kind. He makes you feel as if you are his only patient. He encourages questions and phone calls. ( I am sure he will regret telling me that) He was great with our 14 year old son who had questions about the surgery. I can't say enough about him.

excellent before, during and after surgery. Makes sure you know and uphold your responsibilities for pre-op weight loss and testing. He is incredibly supportive and available anytime if you have a problem or question. His office staff can be a little cranky and short, but they are busy.

Let's see mt first impression.... I found him polite and inquisitive. He asked me many questions, I guess trying to get a good history on me. He wanted to know about my homelife and support system. I later found him to be competent, very knowledgable, not excitable, it's all business. I would say his reaction to my eating whole peanuts on stage 3, was proof he knew he was dealing with a person. The education and aftercare are amazing, there are hardly any questions I have, I know what I have to do I guess that is what I would want others to know, pay attention to the whole team and the surgeon because this isn't a quick fix and they/he want you to succeedrn
