When I first met Dr. Maguire I felt comfortable, but he wasn't exactly talkative. I took it as he was all business and I'm glad that he is.rnrnI was happy that he came to see me everyday that I was in the hospital, even though I had to stay a few days extra.rnrnHe listened to my concerns about the g-tube incision and fixed things up right away. Even post-op and in his office he listens to me and takes care of things then and there and he doesn't sugar coat anything. rnrnI think Dr. Maguire is an excellent surgeon and I've heard it from many people who've had him themselves or their family members.rnrnI absolutely love going into Dr. Maguire/Dr. Teele's office. The women that work in there are so fun and really care about what happens to you.rnrnI would recommend Dr. Maguire to anyone looking to have bariatric surgery. We get along fine and he really knows what he's doing.

First office visit: Great staff. He is very quiet :) Kim rocks!rnUpdate: What an AMAZING staff. They always have time for my questions and calls. They have been incredibly patient with my legal matters with Anthem and have gone out of their way to meet deadlines. rnThe hospital in Dayton is also exceptional. They call frequently to check on my progress.

my surgen is john maguire and donoven teel. my first impression of them when i first met them at the simenar was very good dr. teel was the only one there but he was very nice and answerd every ones questions in the fullest that he could.rnrnmy impression never changed about them. they were both very nice from the beggenning and very straight foward with ya. they will tell you what you need to hear rather you want to hear it or not.rnrnthe office staff is very good very professional when you call with a question if they dont know it and have to call you back they will call you back when they say they willrnrnthey very much told me the risks about the surgery and risks after the surgery.rn rnand they have a great aftercare program. rnrni would rater both of them the highest i could rate them i woudl recomend them with no doubt.rnrnand both surgical competence and bedside manner are both great.

What was your first impression of him/her? he was a very nice and caring doctor.. who was very informative yet very supportive.rnrnHow did your impression change over time? i still feel the same way!rnrnHow would you describe his/her office staff? they are best nurses i have ever met. they really cared about me and my progress and my health and made me feel comfortable.rnrnWhat should future patients know about him/her? just to be honest and dont hesitate to ask questions.. there is such thing as a dumb question.. and he may look like a straight forward to the point doctore. but he is a very caring man. i wish that sometimes i could just spend a little more time with him in my visits talking over things.. but besides that he is good. rnrnHow much does he/she emphasize aftercare? he drilled it into my head how important it is for vitamins and walking and getting fluids in. wants to make sure you are doing everything you are suppose tornrnHow did he/she address the risks of surgery? was really honest and upfront about. which i liked he didnt try and mask them. but was still compassionate when explaining it all to mernrnHow would you rate him/her overall? scale of 1 to 10 id rate him a 10.rnrnWhich is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great? Both are great! and doctor maguire deffinatly has bothrnrn

I met Dr. Maguire when my daughter decided to have WLS. I had heard a lot of good comments about him and his track record with WLS patients. He spoke during the informational meeting. I was very impressed with his background and experience. He seemed very standoffish at first. But, as I became more familiar with him, I realized that he is just a quiet person. He has followed up my daughter very closely for the past several months. I am impressed with his willingness to spend time and answer questions. He makes me feel like I could ask him any question.

Dr. Maguire is a wonderful surgeon. He was recommended to me by a friend of mine who works at KMC. I had my surgery in Oct. 2005 and have had no complications. He really cares about his patients and it shows. His office staff is also great. They are very helpful and know their stuff. I can't say enough good about him.

Dr Maguire is a terrific surgeon. I have the utmost respect for him. He has been doing surgery for almost 30 years. He is good at what he does and he cares about his patients. He has a great set up at the hospital too. The level of care there is great!

Dr. Maguire is VERY quiet and reserved. His office staff is incredible. I'm confident that I chose a VERY experienced surgeon.
