Dr. Snyder is a very warm and compassionate man. His staff is also marvelous. Dr. Snyder was very complete with every detail of the surgery and the post operative care, his staff welcomes phone calls at any time and is always there to help with anything. Dr. Snyder came in at least once a day to check on me and to see if I need anything or if I had any questions. If you live in Alaska you really need to see Dr. Snyder!

I've had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Snyder and his staff. From my first phone call with Robin -- who runs that office with amazing efficiency and who spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me answering every question I had -- to my 90 minute consultation with the Doctor Himself, everyone has been supportive, friendly, nice, professional and very concerned about ME. It's been fabulous. As a nurse, I know a lot of doctors and work with them every day; Dr. Snyder is both respected and spoken highly of by every nurse I know. And as his patient, I can definitely say he's a marvelous doctor.rnrnUpdate: I'm now nearly two years postop and am still pleased with his skills, his office, and his continued care of me. I'm down nearly 140 pounds from my highest weight (120 from surgery) and feeling great. My scar is f'ugly but I'm hoping to have plastic surgery this year to make it a little purdier and get rid of some of the excess skin that years of morbid obesity and carrying three big babies have blessed me with. ;)rnrnThe only negative thing I can say is that I wish he had done my surgery laparoscopically. He's not comfortable doing ANY surgery that way, so he does all of his surgeries open. Because of that (and the aforementioned obesity), I have a ventral, incisional hernia from my xyphoid process to a bit above my naval that will have to be repaired, likely with mesh. So I'm not looking forward to having that to look forward to but I'm hoping to combine it with a tummy tuck later this year. All that being said, I believe that EVERY surgeon should only do the surgeries they feel comfortable with, in the way that they feel comfortable.

Him and Robin were great they helped me when no one else would. The office didn't have that factory feel that I had with a different office this place was more personal.

I love Doctor Snyder and his wife Robin. They are a wonderful team and I feel like I owe them my life. I know that if I had not undergone gastric bypass that I would not be here today. I am a total new person, so healthy with a whole new outlook on life. I have a dear friend who is going to have surgery on July 7, 2005. Please pray for her as she goes through the next few months. I am 2 years and 4 months post surgery. I just had a tummy tuck a month ago and am so pleased with my new body. As for how I would rate Dr. Snyder, he gets a great big 10 on a scale of 1 to 10!! He is very competent, caring and observant to every aspect of your life before, during recovery and long after. You would do well to choose him and his staff as your provider.

It is too soon to tell, but my intitial reaction was very favorable. He asked all the right questions, answered all the right questions and only time will tell if he is the perfect surgeon. His office staff is very helpful and very friendly. If we make it through the insurance nightmare I will be in awe of his staff. I felt a definate one on one with Dr Snyder. He makes sure you understand the process, both positive and negative. Aftercare is stressed to the max. If aftercare is not done properly, the weight can come back, and no one wants that to happen. Overall, (and before the surgery) I rate him a 10. At this point, I am putting myself completey in his hands.

Dr. Snyder was a caring, concerned Doctor. As I got to know him, I realized that he had high standards and I hoped that I could meet them. I wanted so desperately to have someone help me.
The office staff are wonderful. All treat each person as an important individual. Helpful in brainstorming when having problems
The worst thing about Dr. Snyder was that he is so busy and "what if I couldn't meet his criteria. THat was also the best part about him. He will not perform surgery unless he is sure that it will help the individual and The person will benefit. HE was so caring. He seemed to know just how uncomfortable life is for an obese person. He let me know that my life was the only thing that he was worried about while I was with him or when I called. There is always someone available to help when I need help.
He also has you sign a contract that says you will stay with the support group. I know that I do not have to honor that contract but when I am tired and it is time to go, I go because I made a commitment. He made a commit to me to help me be healthier. I need to make the same commitment.
Anyone who sees Dr. Snyder most know that he cares but that he is not afraid to say no if he believes that the surgery would not be good for the individual. He is not afraid to say no if he cannot help an individual. That was scary but it earned him respect. I know that going into surgery he believed that he could do a great thing for me.
Dr. Snyder believes that you must stay under aftercare forever basically. Suppor is so important and it helps you when you get stuck and it helps you to continue to be healthy.
He told us everything that could go wrong and everything that has gone wrong in his practice. He explained all kinds of the surgery and then explained why he does the one that he does.
I would rate him EXCELLAMT. The best. I couldn't have dreamed of having anyone better understand me and help me to be the best that I can be.
Both bedside manner and surgical competence were great. I had purple hair and he let me have a picture of him and I after surgery. He listens to what I am feeling and helps me to get it right.
The only part that discruntled me was I didn't see him before I went to surgery. He says that normally he sees you just before they put you under but I was running late and they put me under too soon. and then I didn't see him that evening either. I saw him finally the next morning. I was a bit discouraged. It sounded like a fluke as others that I have talked to saw him twice a day every day. I was doing very well with no complications.

Dr Snyder and his wife Robin make a wonderful team in the fight to help overweight people inflicted with the disease obesity overcome and live a normal life. Robin has worked her behind off batteling primary and secondary insuarance companies to get it together and get us a surgery date! Dr. Snyder has rigid standards for who needs this surgery, but it increases my confidence in him and his ability choose those who truly need this surgery.

Upon making an appointment to see Dr. Snyder for a consultation, I was told that I would have to attend a mandatory meeting where the Dr. describes the surgery in detail, tells of risks and benefits and answers questions, he also tells us what his criteria for choosing a surgical candidate was. I was impressed with this because he sets his criteria a little higher than other doctors aroung the country. He won't just do the surgery because you want it . I went to the meeting on Oct. 17, 2001. There, I met him, Robin (his nurse/wife) and their office manager Shannon. They were professional from the moment I met them. The meeting was thorough and I had all my questions answered. Now I just had to wait until Jan. 28th to have my private consultation with him. I did attend a WLS support meeting that they put on every month and that was informative.
Finally, my appointment came, I went to see him and he went over the questionaire that I had to fill out. After a long talk, he said that I met his criteria. I was very happy. The next hurdle to jump was to see if insurance would cover it.
Robin wrote a letter and faxed it off Feb.5, and they recieved approval on Feb.12th.
One week. Big hugs to Robin.
Dr.Snyder said that after the surgery I will be in the hospital for 4-5 days. I'll see him 10 days out, 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, and then yearly. Blood work is only done if needed. I really like Dr. Snyder, I feel that he knows his stuff. I would recommend him to anyone.

My impression of Dr Synder is
respectful, informitive, kind.
Very knowledgable about what he does as a
