Wonderful surgeon..

My first impression of him was that he was professional and knowledgeable. He was very attentive and informative in the hospital before surgery. The thing that most impressed me was their \"Begin Again \" program for $125. The program is required before your operation. It is very detailed because you meet with a nutritionist, dietician,exercise specialist and a nurse. They each take about 30 minutes to an hour informing you of pre-op and post-op directions. You are also given a book called \"Gastric Bypass: Eating After the Surgery\". It gives you detail week by week, the foods allowed, how to prepare them and exercise techniques. It is extremely informative and thorough. Now as far as Dr. Galloway's demeanor, he is friendly,but not overly. As I stated earlier, he is very professional, informative, not pushy and has a professional sense of humor. He visited me twice after my surgery to make sure I was progressing properly and then scheduled my follow up two weeks after the surgery. His office staff was great as well. I do not have much negative to say about my experience. He performed my sister's surgery a year ago and did great follow-up and she is doing great. The only thing is that if you want a doctor who is playful and overly talkative he is not. If you want someone who is professional, knowledgeable, to the point but is still human then, he is the best choice. I will keep you informed as to how he is with long-term follow-up.

DR. GALLOWAY IS A GODSEND,I HAD A CONSULTATION WITH ANOTHER SURGEON BEFORE HIM, AND I WAS NOT IMPRESSED, HE ACTED AS IF I WAS A BOTHER, HE LEFT THE ROOM TWO DIFFERENT TIMES TO TAKE PHONE CALLS, AND HE HAD ALREADY RE-SCHEDULED MY APPOINTMENT! DR. GALLOWAY WAS WARM, FRIENDLY, CONCERNED, AND HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR ,WHICH IS IMPORTANT TO ME, HE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS, EXPLAINED EVERYTHING I WOULD GO THROUGH, BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY, HE TOOK TIME TO TALK TO ME AS IF I WERE HIS ONLY PATIENT, HE WAS NEVER TOO BUSY TO TALK TO ME LIKE AN EQUAL, NOT LIKE HE WAS DOING ME A FAVOR. HIS STAFF IS JUST AS EXCELLENT AS HE IS, THEY ARE HELPFUL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND FRIENDLY, I AM THANKFUL THERE ARE STILL DRS. LIKE DR. GALLOWAY AROUND, IT RENEWED MY FAITH IN THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY. I had a great experience with Dr. Galloway and his staff. I have had excellent care and they have always helped me when I have called with problems or questions. The hospital was great as well in taking care of me. My experience was positive and still continues to be positive.

I loved Dr. Galloway he was very nice and compassionate when I went for my consultation. He answered my questions plus....When I went to them it was August 25 we sent my paperwork in and we didn't hear anything for a while but i didn't really worry about it because I had to have something else done. I really didn't wory bout it so I called after the first of the year and his office called and checked on the paper work since it had been so long.Anyway--denied the first time then second was approved with the great help from Dr. Galloway and his terrific nurses. Thanks to all of them. At this time I don't have anything negative to say I will have surgery on May 17 I will keep everyone posted. So far-So good.

Well May 17 has come and gone Dr.galloway did a great job. His bed side manners were great. I had surgery on Monday morning and went home Wed night. So far so good go for a check up June 3.

I loved Dr. Galloway. My first impression of him was, WOW he is tall, hehehe. Really though, he was very friendly! He was vey knowledgeable describing the surgery and what to expect. His office staff was very friendly, one of the nurses was a little ditsy sometimes, but they were very good and friendly. Dr. Galloway was very concerned with pre-op lab tests, and answered all my question. He explained the risks of surgery, and the problems that could arise after surgery. One of his patients has started a support group, that meets once a month at the hospital. I have not been able to attend yet, but will. Dr. Galloway keeps a close eye on you after surgery for follow up appointments, and orders lab work to check all your levels to make sure everything is going as planned. I would rate Dr. Galloway, EXCELLENT! I couldn't have chose a better, nicer, or competent surgeon. My husband will be his patient in about 2 weeks for the same procedure, we are very excited. Not only is Dr. Galloway competent with his surgical skills, he has great bedside manner and is truely concerned about his patients. I would recommend Dr. Galloway to everyone wanting to have this surgery!

I had my initial visit with Dr. Galloway on Sept. 25. He was relaxed--not a hurry in/hurry out visit. He was thorough in explaining the surgery, risks, and how critical the post op care is to be successful. The office staff was so kind, professional, and helpful. I think I made a good choice for my surgeon. I'm now waiting for insurance approval.

I met Dr. Gallaway today for the first time. He was very friendly and was thurough in answering all of our questions (my husband and I are both wanting to do this). He assured us that they would take care of filing the insurance and that there should not be any problem with our getting approved. I can hardly wait to hear from them that the insurance has said yes! I would definately recommend Dr. Galloway to others. He was very specific in illustrating the procedure, and he stressed the importance of after care and compliance. He let us know what to expect immediatley following the surgery and how much time we would need off work. As I said before, we were very pleased and look forward to seeing him again to schedule the procedure!

Very good bedside manners. Seemed to care about my feelings and fears. Ofc staff very nice. Started out as thorough but over time seemed less concerned about my follow up and after sgy care. After my sgy I only went back for appt 1 time. Was loosing wt like crazy at 1st, have slacked off after EGD performed to stretch opening that was closed by scar tissue. Able to eat more. Stomach stretching out I guess. Dr that did the EGD said there was a staple accross opening that he stretched so he removed it. Wondering if that staple may have been the reason I was loosing wt so fast. I wish it was back!

While other surgeons had waiting lists up to a year, Dr. Galloway could see me one week from the time I called! I jumped at the chance. He answered every one of my questions without me even having to ask! He spent about 45 minutes with me and my husband explaining the surgery, showing us diagrams, explaining complications. His office staff were very friendly and polite. It took one month for his office to file my letter, which frustrated me a little, but I really did need the time. Dr. Galloway addressed all of the risks of surgery very clearly, but also explained the risks of staying morbidly obese. I feel very confident in him doing my surgery. He is both friendly and extremely competent
