Joseph Galloway Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

I first started out with Dr. Jeffery Hannon, but the wait to see him was so long. It took me 4 months to see Dr. Hannon for my first consult. Then when I got my approval with insurance, it was going to be another 5 months before I could get into see Dr. Hannon for my second consult and for him to set up my pre-op test. A friend told me about Dr. Galloway. I really like him a lot. He was very informative and took time to answer any question. Dr. Galloway didn't seem to be rushed to see anyone else at the time. His office staff was very nice. I am very well satisfied with Dr. Galloway.

I met with Dr. Galloway for my consultation and he went over the surgery and drew a diagram of what was going to happen. He was really nice and explained the risks of the surgery. He pointed out that it was a tool and there had to be a lifestyle change to go along with it. He was very informative and very nice and caring. I worked with his office staff to get approved and it went well. It took about 5 weeks and I was aproved. I didn't visit with doctor Galloway again until 1 week before the surgery and he went over everything again and told me what to expect when I woke up after surgery. He explained everything and he had a very good bedside manner. He is a very likable person. In my opinion a very good doctor. I would recommend him to others.

I was referred to Dr. Galloway by a friend that was 5 weeks post-op. She said he was a great doctor and very nice. He is a very nice person. He described the procedure and drew a diagram (to explain his part), told me how long the procedure would take, what would happen the next day (upper GI)an why, and when I would be discharged. He gave me the stats regarding immediate leaks (how they check for them during procedure and on the day after and how the leak is fixed). He has only had one leak and it was caught during the procedure and fixed immediatly. All of this info was given on the initial visit. He answered all of my questions, even the ones I forgot to ask. He told me about possible problems with insurance company and explained that he and his staff would work with them and me to get the approval. I felt very comfortable with my decision after meeting with him.
His staff is great and all of them, that I have spoken with, have made me feel like they are there to answer my questions (they don't make me feel like I am imposing on their time.)
I met with him on November 8th and it is now December 12 and I don't have an answer yet, but I know that things get hectic around the holidays. So maybe it will be soon...
