Kevin Mann Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Mann performed my VSG on Feb 11, 2013. My experience with him from day one was knowledgeable, caring and comforting. He attends almost all support group meetings every month and answers all questions you have. I am so glad I had this surgery and so glad Dr. Mann was my surgeon. I would recommend him to anyone thinking about having weight loss surgery.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH DR. MANN WAS AWESOME. HE AND HIS STAFF ARE ALWAYS THERE 2 MAKE YOU FEEL AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE.ON THE DAY AFTER SURGERY I WAS UP WALKING 5 LAPS AT A TIME ON THE 4TH FLOOR WITH LITTLE TO NO PAIN AT ALL.I HAVE 6 SMALL INCISIONS. AFTER A FEW MONTHS THEY WILL BE BARELY VISIBLE AT ALL. I HAD THE GASTRIC BYPASS, MY NEIGHBOR WHICH IT WAS 4 OF US 2 A ROOM HAD THE GASTRIC SLEEVE ALSO PERFORMED BY DR. MANN AND SHE WAS UP AND WALKING WITH ME. I MUST SAY THAT I THINK AGE PLAYS A FACTOR IN HOW QUICK YOUR RECOVERY TIME IS. I AM 32 YRS OLD AND I WAS GETTING AROUND WELL. MY NEIGHBOR IS IN HER 60S AND ALTHOUGH SHE WAS UP AND WALKING IT DID TAKE HER A LITTLE LONGER TO MAKE PROGRESS. EVEN THOUGH IM ONLY 4 DAYS POST-OP AS IM TYPING THIS REVIEW..IF I HAD 2 DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN I WOULD DEFINITELY WANT DR. MANN TO BE MY SURGEON.

My surgeon was wonderful and he made sure all of my questions were answered right away. My hospital stay was great, and even though there is a lot of physical discomfort that comes along with this surgery, the staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, and even kept me amused while I was there. I especially enjoyed staying in the step-down unit. The nurses there were so fun! I highly recommend having your surgery at this hospital!

Dr. Mann is a great surgeon. I had the gastric bypass in Feburary 2011 and had no complications. Dr. Mann was always nice, professional and easy to talk to at all pre- and post - op appointments. I would definitly recommend him for anyone considering weight loss surgery!

I'm a Navy Wife so I'm so glad that I had a great doctor. Dr. Mann and his team are incredible!!! Personal, hilarious personality and just great bed side manner. He gives it to you straight and is so easy to talk to!

Dr. Mann has been great through the entire process. He is extremely knowledgeable and in my opinion an expert in his field. I never had to wait for a response to any of my questions. He had immediate answers and explained everything in depth. I am very satisfied with the care I received before and during my surgery on Jan. 19, 2011. Dr. Mann and his team made me feel as though I was their only patient. Having Dr. Mann as my surgeon was definitely worth the wait. He is truly an asset to Portsmouth Naval Medical Center.

I had my surgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospitial, Dr. Mann was my sergon and was very Knowledgeable, and answered all my questions and put all my fears to rest. I followed his directions to the letter and have had no problems whatsoever. If anyone is going to Portsmouth Naval I would highly reccomend this very professional sergon.

My first impression of Dr. Mann was that I liked him! He was friendly & genuinely concerned about me. The staff at NMCP is awesome, I love Nurse Boone & Toni, they are both sweet & truly care about the patients. Dr. Mann was not the first surgeon I saw. I was supposed to have surgery by Dr. Chastanet, but he got transferred out for a little while. I was a little nervous about seeing someone different, but now I am quite content with the way things worked out. Dr. Mann has answered every question I have had with knowledge & expertise, he has seen me on short notice when I had complications and he even waited to do my surgery until after he got back from vacation, so that he would be available should any complications arise. I do not know many doctors that would make sure they were there for you, but I am very satisfied with his compassion, commitment to me as a patient & communication of all I needed to know. I would not trade him for any other surgeon in the world.

I am very happy having Dr. Mann as my surgeon. He and his entire bariatric team have been and continue to be supportive and caring. Couldn't ask for a better team!!

When I first meet Dr. Mann I had a great impression. Dr. Mann seemed that he wanted the best care for me. He listened to all my questions and gave me a lot of answers for support, such as this web site. On our second meeting he did not made a big deal when I gained 6 lbs over Thankgiving and Christmas. He simply stated that \"I want you to start moving foward so I want you to lose the 6 lbs before surgery. You get to pick your date and you will know how long you have to do it\" After the third meet when I lost 12 lbs he was excited for me. He gave me encouragement and warned me to keep it up and not have a final binge, that it would only hurt me. I was thankful for the excitement of Dr. Mann for me. The staff with Dr. Mann is just as nice. Although I have not had my surgery yet (2/20/08) I feel that he has great bedside manner.
