Laura Velcu Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr.Velcru was very nice , she made my husband and i very relaxed. Her staff and all of her assocaites were all ANGLES !!! There was a traing program of 6 months before hand and complete aftercare program. Dr.Velcru did address every risk , before during and after the surgery!!! On a scale of 1 -10 We would rate her 100!!!!!!!!!! My husband was kept very well informed every step of the way of my surgery!!! I have to say I had no pain throughout everything. I can olny say that DR. Velcru gave me and my family the care as if we were her own family. Bar122109

My first impression of Dr.Velcu was that she was very straight to the point and clear in her intentions and wishes.rnMy impression only changed in that now I will add , she is very compassionate and comforting with a great bedside manner.rnI thought her office staff was also very caring ,and friendly.rnShe puts great enphasis on how you take care of yourself immediately following surgery.rnI would reccommend her to any and everyone.

I loved Dr.Velcu. I had my surgery at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvanis where she heads the Bariatric Program now. She was very honest, making sure I knew all of the risks before I decided to have the surgery. The Bariatric Program that she works for is amaaing!! Between the surgeons, the NUTS, and the office staff, I always felt comfortable!!

She's Actually at Wyoming Valley Geisinger in Pennsylvania. The staff is wonderful. Dr. Velcu was very nice and professional.

My surgeon is no longer in Louisa, Ky she is actually the Director of the Bariatric Program at Geisinger Wyoming Valley and will be performing my RNY on 4/13/09. I was impressed with her at our first meeting and continue to be impressed with her professionalism and her bed side manner. She actually performed an upper GI on me last Monday and was wonderful.

She is a great person as well as a surgeon. She will do what she possibly can to help you acheive your goal. She is going to do my surgery tomorrow.

Dr. Velcu is a very friendly and intelligent woman, I was very impressed with her at our first meeting and also when she did my EGD 6-24-08. She makes sure that you understand all the risks involved in having the procedure. She is very good at what she does, a wonderful Dr. My only fault was she didn't let my family know I was ok until much later and they were very worried.

I had my surgery on April 22 2008. Dr. Velcu and the staff at Three Rivers was great!!! She was really great at keeping check on my labs. My white ct. went up and potassium dropped. She made sure that I was ready to come home and my labs were all normal as well. I have to say she has been one of the best doctors I have had. She would come in the mornings as well as afternoons and check on me. The nursing staff was wonderful. I can honestly say this is one hospital stay that I have nothing bad to say about. Thank you Dr. Velcu & staff for treating me so well.

I would highly reccommend Dr. Velcu to anyone considering weight loss surgery. My first impression of her was that she made sure you understood the risks as well as the benefits. This surgery has totally change dmy life as well as improved the lies of my children. There is so much more that I can do with them now. The staff at Dr. Velcu's office as well as the staff Three Rivers Hospital are excellent. I definitely have never regretted my choice to have the surgery nor the surgeon that I chose. Thank you Dr. Velcu for changing my life and making me a happier person!!!

She is a very niced person.I have only meet with her one time and I loved her bed side maner.I meet with her again on the 14th for my per op app.rnI love her staff that are very nice.I just love Robin she has helped me out so much and is a very sweet person.I'm glad she gets to go through this with me.The office is nice and clean and not hard to find at all.My 5 hour drive to get there was not a big deal after I meet with them all and saw what kind of ppl they are..rnI can't tell you much right now about how the hosp. is with the after care but as soon as I get home I will update everything.I do know the time I did go over there to get x-rays and blood work done it was nice and clan and very nice ppl.I had no problem with anything that day I was there.
