Laura Velcu Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Feb. 12th 2007, I went to Louisa to meet with Dr. Laura Velcu and her staff. A long awaited meeting that I thought would never come since it had been six months since I filled out my patient worksheet packet. At the beginning of the visit I met with Robin for my Pre OP Workshop. She was very informative and knowledgable. I then met with Dr. Velcu and her assistant and talked about all the health and family history and discussed the procedure once again. She then proceded to make notes and appointments for testing that need to be done before surgery and then ultimatly sent to my insurance for approval and surgery date.

Dr. Velcu is very down to earth, and she makes me feel very comfortable at all of my appointments. She was upfront and made sure I knew the risks involved. During my hospital stay she visited me many times. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is thinking of having the surgery. She has a wonderful office staff, too.
