Dr Kozar is an honest, matter of fact guy that doesn't beat around the bush. I appreciate this quality in a doctor, as I don't like to be patronized. However, sensitive people may want to beware, as you likely will always hear the truth from this guy. Not a bad thing in my opinion. From an academic perspective, he is very well read on current research and surgical techniques. This demonstrates his desire to stay current, and always look for better solutions. He will listen to whatever you have to say, but be prepared for his opinion. He is great with follow-up care, and was prompt when an emergency rose.

Dr Kozar was awesome about letting me know what to expect befor and after surgery. He did a great job on my Gastric Bypass. I was surprised by how short the recovery time was, I was back to work in 2 weeks. The staff at Wstern Bariatric institute in reno, Nv are all professional and friendly. The aftercare program has been super easy to follow , because they let me know step by step what they expect of me. Overall I give dr Kozar and his entire staff two thumbs up. Having them do my surgery was the best choice I made in a long time.

Dr. Kozar genuinely cares about your success. He is engaging and informative. Pre surgery preparation was thorough and comforting. Surgery was a breeze and healing time was surprisingly brief. I recommend Dr. Kozar without reservation. He is the surgeon you want.

Dr Kozar was very informative and straight forward which I appreciated. His office staff is wonderful especially his nurse Galene. I can honestly say that there is nothing that I dont like about him. What futuer pt's should know is that w/out his help I probaly wouldn't be writing this. I would rate my doctor a 10 out of 10. My doctor also on a weekend rushed me into the hospital to take out my gallbladder a yr after my by pass surgery and he was supposed to be leaving for vacation and he put that on hold for me. Even the hospital staff admires him! I know this won't sound honest to everyone but I really have not had a negative experience knock on wood :)

my first impression of Dr. Kozar was here is a dr. who knows what he is talking about. He was very straight forward in telling you about the surgery and that it was not the surgery alone that was going to make you lose the weight. The surgery was just a tool to help you, the rest was mind over matter and following a few rules. Dr. kozar is always positive along with his staff. Dr. kozar is very dedicated to what he does but expects you to up hold your end of the program. All through the trip to surgery a structured support group both in other patient and the medical staff are their to help you with any of your problems. The risks of the sugery were explained and the success stories were also explained. Going into the surgery I felt very confident and relaxed knowing you would have a top of the line surgeon who took great pride in your out come. Dr. Kozar's surgical competence and bed side manner were both great. I have been so happy with the results I have achieved over the past year that I have talk to three other guys I work with into going in and having the surgery also.

Dr. Kozar was very helpful and professional.rnHasn't change any, I had to go back in and have the surgery after 2 1/2 years because my lapband slipped, wouldn't have had anyone else do the surgery.rnMost of the people are very friendly and helpful in the office.rnI can't say there was anything I don't like about Dr. Kozar.rnThat he is a very caring doctor, I had some problems after surgery and he gave me his personal cell phone number.....how many doctors will do this?rnHe is a firm believer in aftercare.rnHe tells you straight up what the risks and benefits are, so that you are able to make the right decision for yourself.rnI would rate him a 10.rnBoth are great, and he has them!!!

I have really thought alot about what may be a negative about the man, but i cant come up with anything, except maybe he doesnt know much about railroading, but then again he doesnt have too, i will take care of that..lol

Dr. Kozar gets 10's all the way across the board. He is a great doctor and very easy to talk to and answered all my questions and then some. I would highly recommed him to anyone who is thinking about the surgery. He is very informative and takes his time with you and does not rush you in and out.
