My first impression of Dr. Adolph is a great one. He knows what he is talking about and explains in great detail about the risks of the surgery and he has plenty experience, which is what I am looking for. He listened to my ?'s and answered them without hesitation. I am so glad I chose BTC. The facility is very clean and everyone is very friendly. They do have a wonderful aftercare program and I feel confident that I will succeed. I rate BTC a perfect 10. I left there feeling more knowledgeable about the procedure and alot more confident.**** After surgery, my views have not changed. Dr. Adolph was great and the nurses couldn't have been better. They really took good care of me and I would recommend this hospital to anyone looking into have WLS.
I had my first meeting with Dr. Adolph in December 2002. I found him to be very intelligent and willing to answer my questions. He did not rush me during the meeting. I left his office with the feeling that he knew what he was doing and that I had found the right doctor for me. I had my surgery on July 23, 2003 in Groveport. Dr. Adolph came into the pre-op room to see me before the surgery and spoke with me for several minutes. This really helped my nerves. I know that he spoke to my family after the surgery. They all said that he was very informative about how the surgery went. I saw him again the next morning. He let me know what was going on and why things were being done. He will spend the time to explain everything to you. He has a very pleasant bedside manner, competence as a doctor/surgeon is exceptional. I would recommend him to anyone thinking about this surgery.
Dr. Adolph was very nice from the start. I am speaking on my own personal experiences. I had a good feeling about him. He explained all the risks throughly and made sure I understood everything when I left. His office staff was nice and comforting. Any one in the future looking for a doctor that really cares about his patients, he is the one. I saw him everyday of my hospital stay, and I had surgery on a Friday and was in untill Monday. He even made sure that my pain comfort level was to my satisfaction before I left. He is what you call one perfect doctor. He has got you in mind from the time of your initial visit.
I have only met with Dr. Adolph once. And that was at my initial consult. He seems like he is very experienced and educated in gastric bypass surgery. His office staff is always very friendly and helpful. Dr. Adolph emphasized from the first moment we talked that after care is one of the most important things to make this surgery work. It's just not surgery alone. It is also a change in your eating habits/life style, exercise, and following the program. Over all he seems like an excellent doctor.
I thought that Dr. Adolph was very nice the first, and only time, I have met him, which was at my initial consult. He seemed very interested in making sure that I was positive that this was the right course of action. He wants you to know what you are getting into. I did not find him to be rushed or cool-mannered, he opened up much more when we discovered that we grew up in the same area. The biggest thing he stressed was aftercare. At this point, as I am heading toward my surgery date, I feel very secure in knowing that Dr. Adolph will be performing my surgery.
12/9/02: I met with Dr. Adolph today for my consultation. He was extremely knowledgable, and made me feel comfortable with and secure in his competence as a surgeon. I felt his presentation was a bit canned and rushed, but the ease with which he rattled off the information led me to believe in his knowledge. He was very friendly, and comfortable with my interrupting his presentation with questions, all of which he answered to my satisfaction. He was stringent in his emphasis that this would be a lifestyle change and that surgery is a tool, not a cure. He stressed aftercare, and detailed the risks. Overall, I felt very comfortable with him and thus far trusting that he will be a good medical partner in this voyage I'm about to undertake. If I had to choose one, I'd say the consultation left me feeling he rates higher in surgical competence than bedside manner, but then, I really haven't spent all that much time with him yet. <p> 6/30/03: Dr. Adolph is a very good doctor, and I trust him implicitly. He's very caring and compassionate. He makes me feel comfortable and important, and explains things so that they're understandable without talking down to us. I'm so glad I've had the opportunity to work with him.
01/24/03 - my initial consultation date - I was very impressed with Dr. Adolph. I took my mother with me and she had the same feeling. He was very patient and kind when describing the entire procedure. I felt for the first time that a doctor actually cared about me! Go figure. At this time I have nothing negative to say about him.
04/28/03 - surgery day!! He visited me in pre-op and made sure that I had no last minute concerns or questions. This really eased my mind when he and I talked. He was a little harsh in explaining some things but it needed to be done.
05/01/03 - I'm going home!! He visited for about twenty minutes and decided to release me. We talked about more concerns and the positive attitude I needed to keep in order for this to be successful. I agreed with him and decided if I had troubles I would call immediately, just as they suggest.
More updates to come as I go on my journey...
I,liked him.My impression didnt chang. His office was very nice.To me he didn't spend enough time going over the proseger. He realy seamed like avery nice docter. He really just went over the program breavly.I would rate him well.He seamed like a very good surgern, and hada very good bed side manner.I Realy fell that he will be a very good docter.I raly trust him.
My first impression of Dr. Adolph was okay. He seems like a nice man who knows what he's doing. Knowing what he's doing is VERY IMPORTANT to me! I've only met with him one time. The office staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The only real issue I have is getting in touch with Dr. Adolph's assistant. I called every day for a week, twice a day, and faxed a letter requesting confirmation of a cardio clearance. Finally it all worked out and my surgery date was set! My pre-testing went smoothly and I have been able to contact the nurses in the last couple of days without problems.
