I had my surgery 7-12-02, I was 323 ponds the day of surgery. Before i even left the hospital I had lost OVER 60 pounds. At my year anniversary i had my 1st plastic surgery, a breast reduction ( I was a 46H) and a peniculectomy ( basically a really in depth tummy tuck where they go from hip to hip) a year after that I had my 2nd "tummy tuck" to remove more skin. Dr. Brian Widenhouse was my plastic surgeon, he was awesome. As for my experience with Dr. Sabback, he was informative about the surgery he was going to perform the traditional rouyen-y to a certain extent. There were complications I had afterwards I was NOT told about like kidney stones, which since surgery I've had 14, 13 of which required having lithotripsy. I suffered from SEVERE bulimia. Those were two things I was not warned of, but it was enough. If I ate too much and got sick it drained EVERY bit of energy I had out of me, and I was literally useless for the rest of the day. I also lost ALOT of hair, which he did tell me about. When i finally pla·teaued I was about 134, which I was comfortable at. I am only 4 ft 9 in. Last year (Dec, 2012) I got down to 109 pounds and looked very sick, so i tried to gain some weight back. Well I gained a lil too much back. I got back up to 183. I had my regular physician put me on Adipex, a diet pill that suppresses your appetite and I am happy to say since Dec. 4, 2013 I have got down to 170. I don't have a specific weight goal, I just want to be comfortable again, which was between 125-140. Even after all the problems I had after my surgery I would do it all over again...NO QUESTION, it saved my life. When I had my consult with Dr. Sabback, he flat out said to me either the weight is going to kill you or the surgery will. I put it in God's hands and here I am 11 years later. He saved my life and I am greatful to him everyday, he gave me back to my kids, and to myself!

Dr. Michael Sabback, now retired, did an excellent job with my roux-n-y gastric bypass. He did some "extra" things like double-stitching, which I believe, made my surgery a success. I have had no problems in 6-1/2 years and am currently at my goal weight.

Seemed as if he knew what he was talking about, told me that i could die on the table or ae anyrime in the 1st yr. for no apparent reason.
He became more evasive as time went on, outgrew his practice(my opion)
polite and helpful
that he didn't tell me of the illnesses that could occur( of course it was a new operation back rhen.
he has since retired
he didn't say anything about what would happen yrs down the road
just told me it was risky and that death could occur at any time during the first yr
i guess back then i would have said 9, now maybe a 4
6
both play a very important role for me

I can't say enough about how impressed I am with my surgeon, Dr. Szomstein, and all of the team at Cleveland Clinic of Florida in Weston, FL. They are professional, kind, thorough, knowledgeable and accomodating! I feel 100% more confident that I have made the right choice in surgeons, facilities and procedure after my meetings at CCF.

My first impression of Dr. Sabback was that he is a very caring and intelligent man he makes sure that you feel comfortable and answers all of your questions no matter how many you have making sure you are aware of what you are about to get involved in by having the surgery. My impression of Dr. Sabback has not changed after the surgery except that I care for him more now on a diffrent level since he did my surgery and everything went fine.
Dr. Sabback's office staff are such kind caring little dolls. They really care about you! Anytime you need anything the girls are there for you!
I have NO COMPLAINTS about Dr. Sabback!
Future patients should know that Dr. Sabback really knows his stuff and can explain it to you so you know excatly what is being done or will be done.
Dr. Sabback makes sure after the surgery that you ae eating good and that you have had not had any problems after the surgery he is very concerned about his patients. He came to see me everyday. He gives you the positive attitude you need to get better.
The list of aftercare is given to you of the do's and dont's. He sees you regularly to keep an eye on you to make sure all is well. He complements you on your weight loss. He will tell you good job keep up the good work! His positive attitude is all I need to hear to keep me achieving my weight loss goal.
Dr. Sabback lets you know up front that there are risks with the surgery he is a very honest man.
I rate Dr. Sabback as being an EXCELLENT Dr. He has the most high rating that I could give him!
Both were EXCELLENT! Dr.Sabback is the man!
