Dr. Sabback has been extremely wonderful and caring. It's very refreshing to meet someone in the medical field who understand this problem. The staff was wonderful.

HE SEEMED NICE, BUT NOT OVERLY NICE. STAFF MEMBERS ARE GREAT. THE THING I LIKED LEAST ABOUT HIM WAS HE WAS VERY BUSINESS-LIKE AND NOT REALLY PERSONABLE. HE EMPHASIZED AFTER CARE VERY WELL AND EXPLAINED SURGERY IN DETAIL, ALLOWED YOU TIME TO ASK QUESTIONS AND ANSWERED THEM IN GREAT LENGTHS. HE LET ME KN0W ABOUT THE SURGERY RISKS, BUT TOLD ME OF THE LOW RISK OF DEATH, ALSO THE % OF RISKS FOR OTHER PROBLEMS. I WOULD RATE HIM SO FAR AS A PRETTY GOOD DOC. I THINK HE COULD BE ALITTLE BETTER WITH HIS BETTERSIDE MANNER BUT OVERALL I THINK HE'S GREAT. I'M NOT LOKKING FOR A FRIEND, I'M LOOKING FOR A GREAT SURGEON!!

My first visit was 10/10/01 at first I thought Dr Sabback was going to lecture me until he saw the problems I have. He seems to be a real nice man. His office staff was nice too. We discuss the surgery and my illnesses. He seem concern about some of the things I have going on with me. At this point I don't know if have the surgery until I completed some of the testing he and my PCP wants me to do. overall he is very nice and seems to be very competant. He is a nice man, however not easy to talk to. I felt like he was uncomfortable and that made me feel uncomfortable. I started my testing 10/15/01. I PRAY everything comes back fine. I PRAY my health permits me to have the surgery from what I have read and that Dr Sabback told me I fell it will improve my health a great deal. I know GOD will work it out.

I met with Dr. Sabback yesterday, Sept. ll, 2001 (the awful day in America) and he seemed to be a caring, experienced man. He has been doing these type of surgeries for 20 years and learned for some of the pioneers in the field. He does not do the laproscopic procedure, which I was a little disappointed about, but I will still stay with him. I now have my appointments for a gallbladder scan, psyciatrist, pulmonologist, and blood work. I will see him again in 4 weeks to discuss these tests and see where we go from here. He said because of my many co-morbidities, he does not see why Medicaid would refuse paying. He gave me information about what the post-op diet would be, explained the surgery, and told me the risks and how much weight I should expect to lose if I am committed to this. He is a Christian man who says that he and his staff pray for all his patients. That makes me like him even more!

My first appointment with Dr. Sabback was a great experience.
He was very informative of the procedure, and how my life would change having it done.
His staff is very nice and willing to answer all of my questions.
I feel as though I made the right choice so far.

My first impression of Dr Sabback was I didn't think he really wanted to deal with me because of the type of Insurance I had, but he saw how determined I was so he said they would try anyway. Then when I told him I was going to do this with or without Insurance coverage he proceded with all that he makes you go through before surgery. My impression did change as we went thru everything and he finally made me feel good about what I intended to do. He does a very complete screening before surgery such as sleep studys for apnea and a physciatric visit to make sure your stable to deal with all the changes you will be going through as you loose the weight. His office staff were all very nice and I really only had one problem and that was I had told them of the Date I wanted the surgery and they didn't seem to act on it in the manner they should have so because of this it was only 4 days before the surgery that they actually got it scheduled. Dr Sabbacks bedside manner is a little abrupt but he was to the point and so that was okay. He is a very Christian man and I feel he really does know what he is doing and thats probably why he's as complete

My surgeon, Dr. Sabback was the most kind and patient. I mean REALLY patient. I went in with a list of questions I found on the internet. He sat in the room w/me and my fiance' and stayed there till every question I had was answered. I kinda felt bad for the other people in his waiting room, but at that moment I was the only one that mattered and that made me feel like he had a big heart. His staff was quite amazing. After I gave the "thumbs up" his staff made all the necessary appts for lab work, ekg's, etc... no stone was left unturned. I felt more at ease letting them "do their thing" and all I had to do was show up for the appts. Dr. Sabback did go over the risks of the surgery and I think it made his job a bit easier to know that I had done my homework on the surgery as well.

Dr. Sabback seamed to be a kind and caring person, who was really interested in helping me. It turns out, he is just that person. His staff also treated me like I was number one on their list. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor.
