My first impression of Dr. Schwartz was this man is HOTT!!! Really though, I was referred to him for another matter all together by my pcp and he really knew what he was doing and has an excellent bedside manner. rnrnHis entire staff was so wonderful to me. From Stephanie answering the phone to Lori, doc's right hand woman. He has a good team assembled.rnrnI felt he was wonderful, even through my complication and re-hospitialization, he was right there for me. rnrnI never had any second thoughts about this life changing events. I have referred several family members to him to seek out advise to see if surgery is right for them.rnrnrnrn

Dr. Schwartz seems super nice, but I've only met him once and it was for a very short period of time. I'm sure I'll have more to say in the next year since he's gonna be my new BFF :-)rnThe office staff is GREAT!!!! Every one is super nice and VERY easy to deal with....

(What was your first impression of him) Dr. Schwartz was great to talk to. I went into my consultation with a number of questions and he answered every question that was asked. I could not be happier with the meeting. I beleive rnrn(How would you describe his/her office staff?) Very clean and professional. The staff was polite and answered my questions.rnrn(How much does he emphasize aftercare?) I will be able to have 1 year of follow-up care and fills in the pricing.rnrn(How did he address the risks of surgery?) This was one of my main questions. He has done over 600 Gastric Bypass Surgeries and nearly 400 Lap Bands. As of date he has no deaths but he has dropped doing Gastric Bypass in favor of the Lap Band. Dr. Schwartz told me that he decided to practice what he preaches and felt that the Lap Band was superior with the same results and safer for the patient. rnrn(Did you have anything negative to say?) Nothing negative but the time spent with me has been rather short at all appointments and at the time of surgery. Everything discussed is short and to the point. Not like other doctors I have had for other surgeries that will take the time and explain in detail. rnrn

My first impression of Dr. Schwartz was that he was pretty brief and to the point but he was definitely willing to answer any questions. When I first saw him, I had made up my mind to have RNY and I assured him that I had done all the research and that was what I wanted. He did not try to change my mind even though he was in the process of changing to doing only Lap Band. I left feeling like I would be very well taken care of by a competent surgeon.rnrnOver time, my impression has pretty much stayed the same although I sometimes feel rushed. I've had appointments where I literally saw the doctor for 30 seconds or less.rnrnThe staff is great. Very responsive even though they are getting busier and busier.rnrnThis practice is focusing more and more on Lap Band, yet all of the aftercare seems to be geared toward RNY. In fact, all of my post op diet info says \"Gastric Bypass\" all over it.

Dr. Schwartz was terrific from the moment i met him at the OH conference in Tucson. I told him I would be self-pay and he was so comforting and supportive from the start. At the consult, he and the office staff made my husband and me feel welcome and comfortable. He answered all of our questions and we left there feeling confident in his abilities and caring. His office has a wonderful support program for before and after surgery as well. I knew I had made the right decision immediately. I even switched to his wife for my PCP because I felt like she will really be able to understand the different issues I will be facing for the rest of my life because of the surgery (also, the staff there just raved about how wonderful she is).rnrnI guess my only criticism would be that they are overwhelmingly busy! The office staff aren't always the nicest on the phone, but you can tell they are very busy when you talk to them. Also, when I was recently having some pain, which I think is related to scar tissue--not any major complications, I felt like it wasn't taken seriously--just given a \"it's gonna happen\" line, which stinks when the only thing I can take for it is Tylenol, which does nothing!

First impression was good, he is friendly, professional, so was his staff. I felt very welcomed and at ease, he answered all my questions and I enjoyed his sense of humor.

First impression was not so good, because I was negative about the presentation style once I got to the office and let the staff lead me in the right directions everything was great. Dr. Schwartz is the best he is so good with patients as well as takes the time to explain and answer all your concerns...

My first impression was that Dr. Schwartz was very professional, and detail in his approach. This impression did not change as the process went on. His staff has continued to be very helpful as both my wife and I have had RNY procedures. The staff took a personal approach to our procedures and healing. Also, they were willing to set up multiple follow up appointments and assist in processing short term disability paperwork. They had an excellent surgery preparation seminar and support group meetings are held weekly. Dr. Schwartz helped me feel that this wasn't a \"cookie cutter\" surgery, but addressed the entire process with a personalized approach. His staff is FAB.

It would be hard to describe this experince as anything other than outstanding at every level. The surgeon was direct and professional, the staff were helpful, friendly and supportive.rnrnI can't think of any other way to describe the process than to say I did not have a single negative experince from the first day to the last.rnrnAs for what future patients should know, This a a stuctured, suportive and highly professional program that will leavie them feeling condfident in being able to make the correct choices for them, and then feeling totally safe and supported in those choices.rnrn
