(My Personal Experince with Dr. Jawad's Office Team)

Problems with this office started from day one!!

I was given Dr. Jawad from my insurance carrier, I went to his seminar which he showed up 30 mins late, not a good start. Once he got there, his seminar was informative like the others I have seen and when I saw him he was polite. Dr. Jawad was not the problem, it is his staff!

I went through all the hoops with my insurance provider and was sending everyhting into his pre-determination person, She calle dme once and I misse dher call, I tried to call her several times after that only never to recieve her call back. I kept getting her voicemail that said wait THREE DAYS for a call back, even after the three days, I received nothing. I had to call the operator and get someone, not sure who, to review my file, when I spoek with them they said everything is there ready to go. Still no call back, no date scheduled, NOTHING.

I called the last time and spoke with the office manager, she looked me up on their computer and said it showed that nothing had been recieved, she then went and got my file from pre-determination desk and said stuff was still missing, I could not beleive it, these are the people that want to operate on me and they cant keep their files in place, scarry!!

I switch doctors and spoke to the office manager again about sending my information to my new doctor, I signed the release, and she never sent it to date. Since that time, (This has been one month), My new doctor, has done everyhitng and schedule me a surgery, the new doctors staff truely seem to care about me, not just my money. My information was never sent, I had to call all my doctors visit and psychologist, nutritionist, to get everything sent to my new doctor.

Dr. Jawad my be a good doctor, but his staff is unorganized and could use a lesson on manners. I expected much more from his office. I have sense found other people in my support groups that have had similar problems with his office. On a side note, they sent me to collection to pay for the seminar, every other doctors I went ot see had free seminars, dont worry I paid it to keep my end of the bargin, despite the level of service.

My suggestion, avoid like the plague, if they have this kind of trouble and attitude outside your body, imagine what could happen when they are inside.

I have decided to have wls. After carefully viewing many wonderful surgeons in my area I decided to go with Dr. Jawad Muhammad.
After, successfully completing all requirements I was DENIED of no fault of my own! When I contacted my ins. company to get a better understanding to why I was denied they told me because they did not have any of my clinicals i.e BMI, 5 year history etc.
Im am furious!
I was told that the appeal papers was sent in after findind out they weren't until a week later. I know he has a great reputation an a high volume of clientel but the staff needs to be more detail when submitting paper work. If I would not have kept calling Dr. Jawad's office I would have never known. I have yet to receive an apology. Can someone help me? Thank you in advance!

Dr. Jawad is an excellent, professional and very thorough Surgeon. From my 1st visit all the way down the road he explained everything so that you understood what he was saying. I had the Vertical Sleeve surgery on 4/10/13 and I have no complaints. Very minimal pain and feeling pretty good! I would recommend Dr. Jawad to anyone who was looking for an outstanding surgeon!

Dr. Jawad and his staff were extremely thorough in making sure that I had all the pertinent information I needed during the pre-op phase and since the surgery on 8/24/11. While somewhat nervous about undergoing surgery I was quite confident in his skill as a surgeon. The surgery went well and I am 3 weeks post-op and have not experienced any complications.

My surgeon is wonderful. I would have not considered this surgery if it wasn't for my comfort level with my doctor. Not only is he wonderful, but I feel like his staff is like a second family to me. The entire office is welcoming, supportive and friendly. I have called several times for questions that come up and a few issues I had. Every time, my support was amazing.

THANK YOU to Dr. Jawad and his incredible staff.

He is very knowledgeable, dedicated to his patients and stern when he needs to be. I fully believe there is not a better Gastric Bypass surgeon out there after seeing how well he cared for me during surgery. There is a one week visit for staples to be removed, a one month visit for the g-tube removal and then (so far) I have a 3 month follow-up visit with blood tests to check my levels. If I have to rate my doctor, he would absolutely receive a *10* from me. He is also extremely well known in the industry for what he does and that makes me also very proud to have him as my surgeon.

Dr. Jawad was awesome. My surgery went great and aftercare was everything I needed it to be. Dr. Jawad is very quiet and mellow, so if you're looking for a lively bedside manner, you won't get that, but his surgical skills more than make up for it. Dr. Jawad also performed my gallbladder removal about a year after my GB surgery and that also went great. I have regained a tiny amount of weight that actually put me into a normal weight category instead of underweight. Dr. Jawad and his staff changed my life. I have recommended him to many people and will never regret my decision to go to him for my Gastric Bypass surgery.

Dr. Jawad is the greatest!!! He did my first surgery 20 years ago and it made my heart sing to know he was the same awesome surgeon (per my nurse buddies)that he's always been. You don't see his smile much, but when he does, it lights up his kind eyes and caring demeanor. Hospital staff is wonderful and caring. Office staff could use some work - things aren't followed up on sometimes, but overall, as long as you keep up the work of being your own best advocate and don't let things fall through the cracks, you'll be fine. Aftercare is stressed and I got enough notes and pamphlets to fill up a large folder; so no one can say you don't get the information. They go through everything as a group. All you have to do is read it and keep it close. It's all good info, especially the exercise info - no one ever told me what kind of exercises would be good for me to start before and continue after my surgery. It was something I didn't put much thought into. Jawad was forthright in addressing US averages and his own practice averages regarding risks of surgery, etc. He also stressed the risks of dumping syndrome and what it would feel like. Overall, I think I would give the practice an 8, but him a 9.5 out of 10 (got to have some room to move up, though don't know how!!!). Dr Jawad is straight-forward, never sugar-coats anything, so be prepared for a short, Splenda truth. You will be glad he's that way. He cares for his patients, even after 20 years. And, yes, I'd go back again to him. I did and would trust him with my life.
