Rhonda Wachsmuth Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Well, I finally met her and she wasn't at all like I imagined her.....she's a petite, pretty blonde--I don't know why, but I had imagined her as a tall, no-nonsense brunette...I got the no nonsense part right! I found her to be very down to earth and approachable--she answered all fo my questions and even came back into the room when I asked her nurse Suzi something she wasn't sure about. She is tough though, because when she asked me if I still smoked and I told her 'yes,' she told me that she wouldn't even SCHEDULE the surgery until I quit..and she meant it too...needless to say I quit THAT DAY--Friday May 4,2001! I REALLY liked her though and her staff was efficient and very professional--Suzi is wonderful!!! DR. W. went over the procedure thoroughly--even sketching it out on a piece of paper. The wait for surg is into OCTOBER 2001 now! Overall I would give her a 9 on a scale from 1-10..for now...I reserve the right to update this section-I miss my smokes! :-(

My first impression of Rhonda Wachsmuth was that she was someone who really know her job and made me feel comfortable talking about the surgery.

My first impression only grew stronger.

Her office staff are always professional and courtious.

I can't think of anything I liked least about her. :)

She is a GREAT surgeon who takes the time out to call me at a time in need.

To her aftercare is everything!

The risks were described to me in details and I knew everything she told me was the truth.

I would give her a 4star rating out of a 5 star.

In my opinion Rhonda would score high on both counts.

1/31/01 i met rhonda today for a surgey consultation. she was very informayive and told me what type of procedure she will be doing,and what risk may come about. she was very understanding and compassionate and felt my pain she is really sweet. she also gave me a list of her patients that have been through the surgery to also ask questions. i hope this happens for me.

I have just made my apt and i feel like they are very informative and concerned. I think the lady that sets the apts for Gastric needs an assistant- over worked.

I feel that Dr. Wachsmuth was very knowledgable and caring as she addressed my concerns about having the surgery on my first visit. I had waited nearly 6 months for my scheduled appointment and had changed my mind about having the surgery numerous times. But Dr. Wachsmuth helped me make an informed decision to definitely have the surgery. I guess that's why she came highly recommended by my PCP. Now, I just have to wait on my insurance approval.

Very very impressed with this Doctor. Her office is however slack with paperwork and manners.

This site needs to know that Dr. Henry Wilson in Charlotte, NC is now retired and that Dr. Wachsmuth, who has done these surgeries along side of Dr. Wilson for years, is the Charlotte WL Surgeon of choice!

Surg rescheduled for 8/17/2000

Surg. went fine. Gall bladder was removed as well as my spleen. (see my profile).

Dr. W was wonderful, supportive and very considerate. Her fellow doctors in her group were also nothing but supportive and helpful.

Got some information about this doctor and I am now loooking into finding another doctor. I have not had an appt. yet but the information I received was from a "former patient" who left this doctor also. Also had a VERY long waiting time to get in to see this doctor (almost 5months).
