My surgeon was very good! He was a very professinal man. I was never made to feel \"fat\". I had to attend a lot of seminars and pre surgery classes but i felt VERY prepared and informed.

My Doctor...dr warnock, was surprisingly conversational and patient...he took his time answering all my questions and (my husbands) smh lol... he seemed to be a man of God...we talked about church and The Word!!! Which really put me at ease... and made me feel more comfortable.. he discussed aftercare and the procedure and explained the risks and what my personal risk factors were. His staff was pleasant and the office was comfortable("big girl friendly")both the people and the furniture...lol...He would definitely be ranked among the best dr offices and visits ive ever had...Although I did leave his office with questions still about future pregnancies...

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have changed surgeons...please see updated info 3/18/07...my new doctor is doctor faulkenberry...i havent met him yet..still trying to get to a seminar...

Dr Symmonds is very personable and explained everything very clearly. Paulette is his nurse and the person that I have interacted with for the most part. She's awesome. They are fairly conservative on fills and he finally put more in my band which made a huge difference.

Dr. Symmonds did not band me but has been doing my follow up care since Dr. D. Rodriguez in Dallas moved away. I love their clinic. Its easy to get to and easy to get appnts. He has a wonderful Nurse Practitioner that does my follow-up and fills. I love them. I wished they had been doing banded when I was originally band. I have had more success in the past six months with them than in the whole time I have been banded. I would highly recommend their program. rnrnrnrn

My first impression was he was very straight forward & willing to take the time to answer any questions or concerns I was having. My first impression never changed it was just reiterated the more I met with him he was very plesent & took the time to speek with me about any concerns I was having. There was nothing I did not like about him. Future patients should know that they should feel they can be comfortable discussing any questions or concerns you may have. He puts great emphasis on after-care exspecially makeing sure to get all your water & walking in. He made sure all the risks of the surgery were made clear to me & was the to answer any questions or concerns I had. I would rate him overall one of the best surgons to have I was very blessed that he performed my surgery. He had great surgical competence & a wonderful beside manner. I had no reserves going under the knife knowing he was my surgeron.

I have to say my first impression was he had a dry sense of humor but he turned out to be one hell of a professional.. I absolutely love his office staff.. Karen, the bariatric coordinator is the greatest.. Melissa, the financial lady is just as great.. Paulette A.N.P., is tough but fair.. rnrnAs far as likes and dislikes, I can honestly say I didn't have any dislikes about him.. He is very straight and to the point..rnrnAny future patients need to know that although he appears to have a very dry sense of humor you will warm up to him.. rnrnThe aftercare is done mainly by Paulette but you will see the doc once or twice.. They do try to make sure you stay on track.. rnrnHe made me completely aware of all the risks involved in the surgery. For this, I would say that he is a great surgeon that does a fantastic job overall.rnrn

At first, my impression of Dr. Symmonds was so-so. I didn't dislike him, but I wasn't turning cartwheels, either.rnrnAfter the complications I had, I love him and have total respect for him. He not only saved my life, but he kept my husband constantly in the loop about my progress and was genuinely caring.rnrnEven now, this far out he is still concerned and seems happy to see me and excited about my progress.rnrnI have complete trust in Dr. Symmonds, and will be having him perform hernia repair surgery on me in March.rnrnAs far as his office staff--like most of his patients I was scared of Paulette! But I know her sterness comes from wanting the patients to do their best and be successful. I now count her as a friend and look forward to seeing her.
