He is great. I know doing surgery on me was a challenge for him. But,I am glad he was up to the challenge.

He is upfront and honest. During his seminar he was VERY factual about risks and what his very own patient encounters consisted of. His staff are fabulous. Teressa is the best ever! Id refer anyone interested in WLS to him. Hes VERY strict about following after care, and not just for a few months.. for the rest of your life.

Dr. Korn is a matter of fact type of man. He's thorough and very business oriented. rnMy first impression was cautious, because he isn't your \"Let's be friends\", type of person. rnrnMy impression of him has changed because I've seen him with my husband (he just had an open RNY) and was overjoyed with his attitude of \"Let's get him healthy and happy\". I now trust this doctor, because I have seen him work his magic. rnrnHis staff is so friendly. I have come to care about each one of them, since I see them all the time. His secretary, Theresa, has jumped through hoops to get this done for my husband and myself. I especially love her personality. She's easy to talk with and makes you feel at ease as does his nurse Evelia. She is a wonderful support and very informative and watchful of you. I owe a great deal to her. When I called her to let her know about what I thought were some simple issues my husband was having after surgery, she had me check some things out and then said go to the hospital. We did and he ended up in the ICU for a week. (His issues were not surgery related). I would have lost him had I not called her, and Dr. Korn for being right there and on top of the situation.rnEvery time I've called to either ask a question or whatever, someone has always been willing and ready to talk to me.rnrnI had said once before that he was hard to get to know, but since my husband and I are dealing with him now more often I feel as though I know him better as a doctor and person and I still feel he's the most capable, competent doctor foremost and I trust him.rnrnGet to know him and his practice before you decide whether or not he's the right doctor for you. rnHe strongly encourages aftercare, as far as meeting with a dietician and keeping appointments with him.rnrnHe is straight up front about risks and complications, but most of these can be taken care of, and he makes you feel comfortable with the facts.rnrnI would rate him very high as a surgeon, doctor and a general good guy. I would also highly recommend him to anyone looking to have this type of surgery.rnrnI would say that surgical competence is the best of the best, however a good bedside manner is a plus but not a requirement. He's not a rude man by any means, he's just very professional.rnrnI like it.............

Very understanding of obesity and doesn't want any patient to have any unnecessary tests. He spent quite a bit of time with my on my initial consult and helps to set realistic expectations. He definatley is a believer in his bariatric patients getting a gym membership. He has a great bed-side manner and seems to genuinely care for his patient's well being.

First of all, I made my initial appt with Dr. Korn because he accepted Medicare, which at that time the other Dr's in Boise weren't. I have met with him twice now, and so far so good. I like him, and I feel confident that I probably picked the right surgeon for me. He uses the latest band (AP Allegran) and I feel he knows what he is doing. He is very professional, and has a sense of humor.rnI have now been banded, and all I can say about Dr. Korn is so positive. He absolutely knows what he is doing. I am home now 3 days post-op and I am feeling almost healed. I have had no problems, so I am so glad I chose Dr. Korn. His nurse Evelia, and Teresa are very helpful. I have already recommended him to others and will continue to do so.

I found Dr Korn caring and professional with a brisk bedside manner but with your interests at heart. The staff has always been helpful and kind. He has his own idea of time so if he says he'll see you in the morning, it would be anywhere between 8 and noon. I would recommend this surgeon to future patients. He is really a stickler about aftercare programs and follow up so be prepared to make this a life change. Actually, the hospital and the surgeon have aftercare programs so this makes it easier to find support and attend the programs. He was open and honest with all the risks and kind enough to explain any misunderstood risks with me. I rate him in the top three in town and combined with the care center, in my opinion the top team here. I really find him wanting what's in your best interest and he works with you to obtain them.

Dr. Korn is a superior surgeon. He has been upfront with me from the beginning, always has time for my questions and his follow up is very thorough. His office staff are excellent, friendly and very helpful. He offers a complete follow up program including support groups that meet once a month. I would highly recommend Dr. Korn to anyone considering Gastric Bypass. rnrnMy only negative thought was my hospital care, surgery fell over a weekend and I felt that the nursing staff on duty were \"too busy\" to bother with me. Had a bad bout of blood pressure problems due to being given some \"full strength\" , yes, full of sugar juice and before I knew it, I had dumping syndrome before I really understood what it was! Thought I was dying!! Dr. Korn was called, he came right in, changed some of my meds, had me up trying to walk and within a couple of hours the worst had passed.
