a very kind, sensitive and caring doctor. My surgery was flawless. Very skilled surgeon. I don't know if he is still doing GB surgery or if he has gone back to beast cancer surgery. He believes strongly in a five year follow up plan to monitor progress. I move to Hawaii after a year and have not found a local group to join. Dr. Fast worked with Dr. Frye and started many support groups in California.I recommend both of these two doctors very carry to their patients. And truly believe in what they are doing.

Dr. Fast is so wonderful. I couldn't of asked for a better surgeon or person. He was so kind and I felt that he really cared about me and my concerns. He always took the time out to make sure that all my questions were answered and just to make sure things were fine with me. To anyone thinking about this surgery and can
get to the Allied surgical group in Fresno, I recommend Dr. Roger Fast. HE IS THE BEST.

Meeting Dr. Fast for the first time went well. Very nice man. He explained the procedure very well and let us know all the good/bad that cover the surgery. His staff were very educated and helpful. I felt welcomed. Dr. Fast is great and he wants to help me and I know I will be in good hands, he assured me. From what I hear he has wonderful bedside manner. He requires 5 years after care. Which I think is great.

Dr. Fast is wonderful. I trusted him completely because he was always very upfront about the surgery. I had complications and had to have a second surgery, but he was very frank about what was happening. He has a very good bedside manner and I always felt like I could talk to him and get my questions answered honestly and he explained things in a way that I could easily understand them. He cared about me and I could see that he worried about me. I recommend Dr. Fast to everyone.

Dr. Fast led a seminar that I attended and this is why I chose him. It turned out to be the best decision of my life so far, I don't regret the surgery one bit so far, and Dr. Fast and the staff at the Fresno Srgery Center did an excellent job at taking care of me and my mom in recovery. Thank you all so much!!

<b><font face="Book Antiqua"><font size=2><p align="left">I first met Dr. Fast at seminar that their medical group Tempus sponsored I was really impressed by the presentation, they not only talked of the benfits but also the risks that are involved. Dr. Fast was very down to earth and spoke in a way that you could understand without having to have a medical degree like it is talking to some doctors. I had my First appointment on December 16, 2002 it was an all morning appt. where we not only saw the doctor but had a meeting without Linda who is 5 years post op and LOOKS GREAT she talked about everything she went trough and has experienced since she went to work for Tempus. In the Tempus program they follow you for a minimum of five years post op, which I found comforting and they require you to be walking 2 miles a day pre op so the habit is established before surgery so it's not so hard after. They also require that you are drinking 2 liters of water a day and not drinking with meals or for 1/2 an hour before and 1 hour after. i feel I am being prepared for the rest of my Life.

I have met with Dr. Fast only once but thought he is great. If you don't want to hear the truth he's nor for you. I asked him "How hard is it to change your ways after the surgery?" His reply was " Firt you don't change your ways after you change them NOW!" " and second you have to pick your priorities." His office staff is awsome I have called a number of times and they have given me pointers from A-Z And how to rush the process with my insurance. His office really emphasizes on 2 liters of water per day,2 mile walking a day and no cheating in the"golden period" first 6 months because that is when you loose the most weight the fastest and your body really adjusts. Over all I felt really comfortable and sure in what they said.

My surgeon will be Roger Fast (Fresno Ca)
My first impression of Dr. Fast was very warm. Took the time to explain everything Dr. Fast answered all my questions and my best friends questions.
Dr. Fast was very firm on what he expected from me about exercises, walking, eating like I'm suppose to following his directions. But he was very defenitely firm on walking 2 miles twice a day. Taking the vitamins and protein drinks that he reccommends.
Dr. Fast was very blundt on what can happen during surgery. Infact he stated that he hasn't had a death yet but you never no. anyone could be the first and he wouldnt lie about it to you. Dr. Fast Struck me as a no nonsense man your there for a reason and if you choose to do this then its totally up to you to succeed. Now remember this is only my opinion, might be different for other people. I'll know more about his bedside manner and after surg stuff at a later date. Today is 11-02-02

My insurance is such that I didn't have to have a referral from my primary care provider to make an appointment for a consult regarding wls. I checked the phone book and found two Medical centers in my area that I had heard recommended. I called both and Dr. Fast's office was the first to call me back. Dr. Fast is one of three surgeons who are affiliated with Allied Surgical Specialty Medical Group in Fresno, CA. One of the RN consultants, Linda, called me the same day and gave me info over the phone about the procedure for consultation. I scheduled an appointment with very little knowledge of wls. Dr. Fast's office consultations are done in a kind of group orientation meeting and the appointment lasts about 4 hours. Linda gives a presentation, there are a couple of videos to watch and Q&A time, then Dr. Fast comes in and explains the various procedures their group offers. He was very friendly and genuine. I was impressed with the unhurried approach and his obvious interest in really helping people. After Dr. Fast's presentation, we were encouraged to ask "group type" questions and then we were called in to meet with the doctor privately for specifics to each of our individual cases. Allied Surgical Specialty Medical Group offers a 5 year follow up program and they stress the importance of education and group support. The office staff was very professional and I couldn't believe it when I was contacted three days later to say that my surgery had been approved based on the doctor's report to my insurance company. Dr. Fast has been working with Dr. Betcher in wls for 11 years. He has never had anyone die in surgery or as a result of any post op complications. It is difficult for me to "rate" the doctor because I haven't had the experience of dealing with anyone else. I believe that I am in good hands and I can let you know more as my surgery date nears and our relationship grows.
