I go for my surgery on November 28th. My surgeon is Dr. Samuel Wasser. When I first met Dr. Wasser, he made me feel very comfortable and at ease. He was very informative and he told me right away how the surgery worked and things that could possibly go wrong during or after the surgery. I then knew that I was going to stick with Dr. Wasser. His assistant, Tina, is also very wonderful. She has been very kind and generous so far. I must of called her a dozen times with different questions and concerns, and never once did she seem like I was getting on her nerves which I probably was. I will keep everybody posted on my post-op, but there is no doubt in my mind that I would recommend Dr. Wasser to anyone looking to have the laproscopic gastric bypass.

I was originally Dr. Greenbaum's patient but he is on a sabbatical so I was transferred to Dr. Wasser. I thought he was cool and competent but not very friendly when I first met him. He seemed to warm up after the first visit tho. Dr. Wasser is primarily a vascular surgeon and you know how they work in very small areas.....so I have a very nice pencil thin scar. The nurses at the hospitial spoke very highlly of Dr. Wasser. They said he spends more time than most other doctors in seeing that his patients are take care of and are well. He was at a subsequent aftercare meeting and seemed very interested in seeing that all went well at the meeting. I would rate him an A and recommend him to others.

Dr Wasser is very direct and to the point..something i really loved about him. He told me everything upfront and made sure i understood it. Every risk was put on the table before surgery! I felt this way before and during and im sure i will have that with him now after. His Staff is wonderful. Tina has gone above and beyond for me anytime i call the office. Aftercare is very important to everyone in this office. That shows me that really care about the people they try to help. I would tell anyone looking into this surgery that this is the place to go and they will take care of you from start to finish!! im 2 weeks post op and i can see a major difference in myself! thanks :)

The first time I met Dr. Wasser I knew he was the doctor for me. He has a wonderful personality, very professional yet friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He treated me like a person with an illness not a big fat lady who ate too much! He is realistic and goal oriented yet knows where the person is inside of you.My friend had recently had her surgery with his group and was very pleased and doing well so I knew it was safe. His office and staff are eficent ,kind and personable as in the doctor himself. He asked me that day in the middle of June when I wanted surgery I said yesterday and in august I had surgery. I did nothing but fill out the needed paperwork and follow the directions to get the surgery approved they did ALL the rest. His staff , especially Tina, took care of all the letters phone calls and paperwork. I just got the call to come to schedule surgery you are all clear! The doctor was with me from the day of surgery to all the days of recovery and to this day. All of the doctors take part in your surgery and they are all at your disposl anytime you need anything! The group has a wonderful support group which meets everyother monday and you can join right away and come to meetings where lots of great people and wonderful presentations happen. The group has social events, provides all sorts of information and sells gastric bypass products like snacks, protein and vitamins. The surgeons are in attendance at the meetings ,they give presentations for new people and the veterans, and are available throughout to meeting for concerns questions and to socialize! The group leadrer is dynamic ,well educated in WLS ,and works close with the surgeons to help us all. You must join the support group and pay a fee to have the surgery but it is a life time membership and a endless source of support entertainment and friendship. I was orignally going UHOP to the big famous surgeon there but is comparison I know I mad e the absolute right choice as will anyone who goes to the Rancocas Walley Surgical Group in Willigboro N.J.

Dr. Wasser (and all of the surgeons and support staff in his group) is amazing, supportive, and skilled. My incision is less than 5" long. Yay for small hands! The support group is informative and motivational. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

I met with Dr. Wasser on July 28th. My first thought of him was very informative, there wasnt one question that I had that he didnt answer. His professionalism was wonderful and he didnt make me feel like I was there for an "easy way out". They have a great support group and aftercare and my overall impression of him is someone that I definately want on my side!

My first impression of Dr. Wasser was at the first support group meeting I attended. Handsome, soft spoken, and gentle, but completely competent. He has a surgeon's confidence, but not in-your-face about it. It's a quiet confidence - I like that. Initial consult was pleasant and informative. What struck me was that he always looks patients in the eye when speaking with them (some of us aren't used to that). He always managed to make me feel special. The office staff is first-rate and the whole practice is very focused on aftercare. The support group is wonderful and totally worth the fee. Dr. Wasser is the best! Small hands=small incision and pretty absorbable sutchers in a nice straight line - no staples! Dr. Wasser's bedside manner is wonderful too. He is quick but thorough and always comes across as sincere calm and concerned. I couldn't be happier.

I am using Dr. Samuel Wasser in Burlington NJ.. My first impression was he is a very busy man and wanted me to do my homework on wls before jumping into surgery. He tests his surgical applicants to see what they have read up on and he is very informative as needed. He came to me with very high recommendations and has been very polite and matter of fact to me. I am positive that my expectations will be fulfilled and that I have made a wise choice and a lifelong and everlasting decision that will release me a new lease on life..I also want to add that he has a great Nurse Ann-Marie that has been fantastic as well as other office members. I highly do recommend all of them. I have also been in contact with Dr. Greenbaum who has answered some questions via emails...what a terrific bunch!

I had been to the support meetings at the hospital (Rancocas Valley Hospital)just to see what was what. Dr Wasser was speaking that night and I was impressed by what he had to say. I listened to him as well as to the many patients, pre-and post that were there. I set up an appointment with him that night with Deborah.
Deborah is the BEST and keeps the office moving. She is like a whirlwind of energy and knowledge and freely admits " if I don't know, I will find out and call you back", and she always does.
The visits to Dr Wasser we quick and to the point. Once I recieved my approval from the insurance the date was set for approx 3 to 3 1/2 weeks later. The surgery went very well and I was quite pleased as to how good I felt. Dr Wasser stopped in 2 times for about 2 minutes each. Happily, one of those times was to release me from the hospital and remove the drain. Yeah !!
I think I expected to see more of the Dr while I was in the hospital. I have never had any hospitalization prior so I think this thought was more of what I WANTED as apposed to the reality of just how busy the Dr's are.
As far as the aftercare...this was basically a list of what foods and vitimins to add and when. I do not feel this is enough. The office is in the process of getting a baritric nutritienist but at this time have been unsecessful. I feel that the help of a nutritienist at this point is VERY important to the overall sucess and well being of the patient. My overall impression...I would highly recommend Dr Wasser to anyone. The surgical competence IS the most important thing. I would rate him FANTASTIC.
