When I first met with bariatric surgeon, Dr. Shawn Garber, and his team of experts at NYBG..I knew that my life was going to change forever.. and it did!
I was sleeved on May 24th, 2017. Despite all of my worries and concerns my weight literally came off daily, weekly and monthly. Dr. Shawn Garber saved my life! After one and a half months, I was off all medications ...Before I knew it life was totally happening!
Dr. Shawn Garber is a terrific Bariatric Surgeon with a wonderful reputation and warm bed side manors!
He changes lives in and every day.

Life before surgery was full of laziness, fast food, and sadness. I hated the way I looked and I didn't know how to make "it" up. Life after surgery is AMAZING! I have more energy and I can shop in regular stores! The New York Bariatric Group is Awesome! I love Dr. Garber and his staff. They make the whole experience worth a million bucks.
Before surgery I was constantly exhausted and out of breath all the time. After lapband surgery with Dr. Garber I have so much more energy. I feel healthier and my blood pressure is much better. Dr. Garber and his staff are all extremely helpful and pleasant.
I had a sleeve gastrectomy with Dr. Garber and lost 100lbs! Before my surgery, I was tired all the time and I had Type II Diabetes. Now, I have energy and feel great! The staff at the Port Jefferson office has been wonderful and very helpful every time I come into the office.
The staff and doctors are amazing at the New York Bariatric Group! They are always patient and helpful. Also very understanding and pro-active with questions, problems, ect. After LapBand surgery I feel fantastic. For the last 6 years I would not have to worry of my clothes would fit. I was able to maintain my weight loss. I also have so much more energy.
I had a wonderful experience with the New York Bariatric Group. I love the office and staff. Whenever I had to call my questions were always answered. My surgery was in August and I feel "pain free' in my hips already. I love the energy and the compliments I receive daily.
Before LapBand surgery I was frustrated. I was always worried about my health. Now, I feel energetic and my confidence has increased. I never realized how little you can eat while still feeling satisfied. Dr. Garber has been fantastic through this whole process. He is very accessible.

Dr. Sommer and Dr.Garber performed the sleeve gascetomy on July 10,2013 @ Hudson Valley Hospital...Pre- surgery the team was awesome. They were nurturing and supportive. I loved the quality of service post -surgery. Bedside manners was excellent. Iam currently down 27lbs. I CAN HONESTLY SAY at no time did I ever feel pain. A little aoarnrss but definitely bareable. Aftertwo daya of bwing home I stop taking pain meds.. I feel forever grateful to the team.
