I had my surgery on 11/15/2016 and Dr. Boyce did a superb job. His staff is friendly, the accomodations are wonderful and the nurses and techs during my stay were friendly, courteous, helpful and professional.

What can i say???....COMPASSION...COMPASSION..COMPASSION...which is exactly what i needed..someone to understand..His staff is friendly and informative. Dr. Boyce is a wonderful doctor that runs his office like a well-oiled machine...Everyone has a job to do and they do it...Only one thing i would change is the patients need to see him more if not just for support but just to know they are still on tract. I had my BPD in November 2010 and am currently down over 200 lbs...seems unreal but i pinch myself everyday to make sure i am still awake and not dreaming..Thank You Dr. Boyce and staff for all you have done for this "Fat Girl" Shrinking!!!

Dr Boyce is extremely professional and caring. His staff is excellent. Although he did not perform my surgery, he is doing my followup, and I could not be happier. I just wish that I had him do the actual surgery!

Initial Consult: I was impressed. During the initial group setting, both surgeons were there and spoke plus the dietician, office manager, surgery coordinator, etc. I had a chance to meet Dr. Boyce then. The next day I had my first consultation. He was very polite and soft-spoken. He also spoke highly of his staff and that impressed me. I did my resting metabolism, BMI, etc. I'm so thrilled. The only negative side was that his staff was running late and I had to wait. Really absolutely no problem. Everyone was really friendly and caring. I also noticed that he had a mix of workers - some older, some younger, some heavy and some with average weight. It made me feel good that he was probably interested in hiring the person that best suited his office (and maybe provided better customer service).

Dr. Stephen Boyce did an amazing job on my BPD-DS. I cannot imagine having any other surgeon perform this surgery. Melissa and Donna are irreplaceable in his office. The program emphsizes the need to do as they instruct you to. However, I must say that the "program fee" that is required, is a little overrated for what it is. I have had a few calls to the "nurse" that was suppose to be 24/7 only to be told that she was unavailable or asked questions that I never received answers to.
The think I like least about this journey thus far is that i have only seen Dr. Boyce 3 times total. Once for consulation. Once, day of surgery and one follow-up hospital visit. Other than that he hasn't seen me at all.
I would believe his surgical competence rates a little higher than bedside manner. However, I would think that would be the more important of the two.

Thank you Dr. Boyce for your dedication. I appreciate the peer to peer review between yourself and the Cigna Dr. to reverse my initial denial of BPD DS into an approval.

First impression - extremely good-looking! Confident but not cocky. Focused on me, answered my questions, confirmed my choices. There just wasn't anything there not to like!rnHis office staff are friendly, busy, and effective! They guided me through the extensive insurance approval process, entertaining several calls a week towards the end of that process - and they really do return phone calls. Dr. Boyce has performed over 1400 Lap RNY's with a fantastic success rate. He won't do the surgery unless you agree to participate in their aftercare program - period, and they strongly suggest that we go to as many support groups as possible, before and after surgery. Dr. Boyce addressed the risks of surgery with me, lists them on his website, and strongly urged me to do lots of research on the subject. So far, based on my one face-to-face, he's a 10 of 10, but he has yet to touch me with a scalpel, and that's what separates the men from the boys, you know. In my mind surgical competence always trumps bedside manner - even though both are great.
