Great bed side manners. On time for appts and was so nice even though he's quiet. He doesn't make you feel rushed and will ask if I have any other questions before leaving your side.
I had my VSG done on 3/19/2013 and I can't believe how great I feel! New Hope Bariatric surgery center has the best Nurses I've ever had to deal with. They really treat you like a Queen! I really liked Jennifer one of the RN's at New Hope in Kansas she is the best and takes such great care of her patience. She has a great since of humor and very professional!

I went through the initial process to get the ball rolling and something just doesn't feel right about this practice. Malley seems very disinterested in talking to anyone. I wasn't told that I would pay a co-pay and then sit in a room with other people for 2 hours before the doctor would come in and tell me everything I just watched on the video. Then all the potential lap-band patients were taken out of the room first and seen on an individual basis. I was the first person to check in but I was next to last to be seen. I waited about 3 hours to see the doctor and he spent about 2 minutes with me. When he spoke to the group he slouched against a wall and talked mostly with his eyes closed. He didn't make eye contact, talked in a very low voice, and seemed very disinterested in being there. When I met him one on one, he had the same disposition. He seems very interested in lap-band patients, they seem to take priority, especially if they are self pay. When I was preparing to leave, the insurance associate was the individual who gave me information to take home and read. She was my point of contact for all my questions including medical and psychological. In my experience in the medical field, there is a nurse assigned to answering questions that helps guide a person through the process. I've had very little support. I've tried to give Malley's facility some time, I thought maybe it was me and my emotions but I have contacted another facility and have discovered that it isn't me. My suggestion - if it doesn't feel like the right place, then find another place. Don't sacrifice yourself for the desire to lose weight. It is ok to ask questions and find the right fit for you.

Dr. Malley freaked me out with his long hair and life size KISS poster, but he was a nice guy. I did not feel rushed or pressured. He is calm and quiet. He is really highly recommended and I know that I made the right choice! Now he has cut his hair and redecorated his office. It is really beautiful, but he still have the life size KISS poster and in the office, there is a skull and crossbones throw pillow, but it works!

My first impression of Dr. Malley was that this is my kind of doctor. He was laid back but yet still professional. He made me feel like I had hope and that he was going to be with me till I reached goal. He was wonderful on the day of the surgery. I was very very scared and he was able to calm me down. I did make him laugh asking if my liver was ok the moment I woke up afterwards. rnThis man has given me back my life and I feel that I made the best decision to go with him.rnI went and spoke to many doctors and decided on dr. Malley even after I found out that he was out of network for my Insurance. Still would make the same decision.

I liked Dr. Malley right from the start at the seminar. He is quiet spoken, kind and seems genuinely concerned for each person he treats. I felt completely comfortable with his skills as a surgeon. I was never nervous until I actually got to the center the day of my surgery then that was mostly anxiety over having an IV started, not the surgery. The office staff are all very nice and helpful. My nurse(Tiffany) at the surgery center was awesome and very encouraging!! Nikki at the main office is also very nice and caring.

First impression: a very quiet, shy young man who probably listens to heavy metal under headphones... but really he is a very gentle guy and understood my fears.rnThe office staff is very nice, but can be distant if they are busy. Who isn't?rnrnAfter care is stressed as perhaps the most important part of the program. Post surgery stuff includes monthly office visits, fills as needed, and patient support groups.rnSurgery risks and proceedures discussed in seminar and again in the private consult.rnrnExcellent surgeon, and his bedside manner is gentle. Very laid back; almost too laid back. . But, he takes time to answer my questions and looked me in the eye, and never makes me feel like a freak.rnrnHe does my fills himself, always. A nurse is present in the room, but i've never had a nurse give me a fill, like they do it in some clinics. He has not done a fill with me under fluro, and he has done so many over the years that I don't think he needs to.rnrnHe is not one to volunteer information, but is open about answering any questions I have. This just means that to get good info, you need to know what questions to ask... which I would hope that anyone considering surgery would do anyway.

Dr. Malley is a very quiet, steady sort of person. He gets down to facts, and doesn't feel the need to be sugary sweet with his patients. I appreciate this, as sugary sweet people make me nervous. The people in his office staff are very nice. A couple of them have had the surgery themselves, which is reasuring. Not only does Dr. Malley offer a monthly support group for anyone with Lap Band, but he also offers a monthly nutrition class, both of which are free. This suggests to me that the aftercare and wellbeing of his patients are very important to him.
