Dr. Glorsky is very professional. He is serious about what he does, and is a good surgeon. He is not my after care doctor (as Dr. Scarbrough is), because I felt he is better in surgery versus personal attention post-op. This does not discredit him however. He is a really good doctor. I just preferred someone different for my after care.

My very first impression of him was that he did NOT look like the picture on the website. Also, I was VERY impressed that he came to the waiting room to introduce himself and direct my husband and me to his office. My impression has changed only for the better as I get to see how Dr. G is a very caring and interested surgeon. His staff--Helen--seems to be the same kind of person. So far I have no dislikes about either of them.
I am waiting for a surgery date. Dr. Glorsky seems to have a very thorough and "keep me informed" aftercare program. This is very important to me because of my history. He was also very upfront with the risks of this surgery. So far, from my limited exposure and from reports from his patients, I rate him very high.
Bedside and patient communication seem to both be excellent. I look forward to experiencing his surgical competence.

Initially upon my first meeting with Dr.Glorsky I thought oh he's a cutie, he looks pretty young I hope he knows what the hell he's doing. Immediately, after Dr.G begin to speak I was impressed, he was very professional, patient, and thorough. He answered all of my questions and explained everything we discussed in explicit detail. Helen is the assistant who works for Dr.G she is just as efficient and loving as he is. You could almost swear she was the female cloned version of him.I can honestly say there was nothing I did not love or like about Dr.G and Helen.I feel that future pts. should know that Dr.G is a no nonsense surgeon but he is also a kind, gentle human being who truly cares for his pts and their well being. I feel from personal experience that Dr.G understands what we as obesed pts feel and he gives 150% to give you the assurance that all will be fine.During all meetings he has emphasized the importance of carefully following all his instructions(please keep noted he advices you of what your risks can be if you sway from the instructions he has given. He also maintains a very structured aftercare program that I have yet to experience.Again I have to say that Dr.G addresses every part of this procedure, the risks, the drastic changes, etc that is entailed every time you visit. I feel this is just to make sure you as the pt understand what you are really doing and that you should know that this is forever no matter what your risks may or may not be.
I feel that Dr.G is probably one of the best surgeons in the world, I wouldn't trade him for anything. I have yet to experience his bedside manner or his surgical competence(only by word of mouth of course)but if his current mannerism is an indicator of his surgical/bedside manner I am definitely in for a treat.

Dr. Glorsky came highly recommended from my primary care Physician. He said he "was impressed with his work and aftercare". After my consultation appointment and then attending Dr. Glorsky's seminar, I decided I was in very good hands. He's young enough to know the latest techniques, have steady hands and a sharp mind, but not too young - he has plenty of experience. He's serious but warm - I went away with the sense that, from the bottom of his heart, he really wants to help save my life. He "gets it"! I never once felt ashamed of being fat.
The biggest challenge on my part is the waiting game. I've had all of my tests that he requested, (a psych evaluation, sleep study, upper/lower GI, full cardiology workup and nutrition consult) and I'm just waiting for my second appointment to set the surgery date.
Dr. Glorsky strongly emphasizes aftercare and has a structured aftercare program. His seminar is a must-see. I thought I knew everything about WLS, but I came away from the seminar with much more information than I could imagine. It was a sobering experience. The risks of WLS are very real and he doesn't "sugar coat" it. I'm absolutely 150% sure I've made the very best choice in a surgeon. He's definitely a 10!

I have been with Dr. Glorsky for over almost 2 years. I started going to him at the begining of 2003. He was at the UT office at the time of my surgery. I thought he was wonderful, thorough, dedicated and concerned physician anyone can find. I am late joining Obesity Help but I have been an member in heart since the begining. Dr. Glorsky continues to be the best of the best. He makes you feel like family. He really cares about his patients. He has a wonderful aftercare program with a therapist included. He gives a monthly seminar and answers any questions you can think of honestly. He wants his patient to really know the risk. He believes everyone should make an informed decision. Dr. Glosky has the best competence and bedside manner. There are no exceptions.

Very Knowledgeable- cares about each individual patient- does not rush thru his appt times with you.
Helen is helpful and nice to speak to.
Only complaint- I had not heard about any response to the request for surgery from the office for about 3 months. I followed up once with the ofc and insurance company- Insurance company told me they didn't have a request but I believe later it was probably directed toward another dept. Icould have been more active in getting an answer. Then I heard from Dr. G ofc about 3 months later the surgery was approved.
There is a monthly support group which is helpful.
Dr. Glorsky throughly explained the risks of surgery- he aslo does a very thorough work-up pre-op to address any potential problems. I rate him top notch and recommned him highly for his bedside manner and competence.

I started my search for a surgeon a year ago. I first met Dr. Glorsky when I attended his seminar in March 2004. The seminar was very informative. My first appointment with Dr. Glorsky was July 2004. Dr. Glorsky explained the WLS process and answered all of my questions. I explained my situation as a single parent to a teenage son. Dr. Glorsky informed me that he would explain the procedure and answer all of my child's questions. He wanted to make sure that my child was comfortable with the surgery and understood why this procedure is necessary. Since talking with Dr. Glorsky, my child isn't as worried about the complications. He realizes there are risks but Dr. Glorsky spent the time explaining everything.
I have attended Dr. Glorsky's seminar three times and attended his aftercare program twice. His aftercare program seems very structered and helpful to pre- and post-op patients.

My first impression of Dr. Glorsky was a very positive one. Unfortunately, my WLS has now been cancelled and rescheduled 3 times. I'm feeling very frustrated and exceedingly disappointed. I should have been about 7 weeks post-op by this time, and here I am still waiting for yet another date to be set.
