Terence Clarke Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Clarke and all of the staff at Ellis Bariatric have always been very courteous, professional and made me feel completely comfortable. Dr. Clarke always asked if I had any questions and I never felt I was just another number. He was very thorough and made sure I and my husband completely understood the procedure before me. I was recommended to Dr. Clarke and I highly recommend him myself!!
Was referred to me by one of my customers. Had trust in him from the start. Everything has gone so well i would recommend this surgeon to anyone. The staff at the office are both very knowledgeable and friendly. My only complaint would be he is in such high demand it is harder to see him than his associates. The post op aftercare is both emphasized and available in a weekly support group setting. They have a great pre-op information program to address all the risks and issues post-op. Overall i could not say more about how much trust i have in his abilities and character. Surgical competence and bed side manner are both off the top of the chart. As said before the only complaint i have is that he is so busy you loose some of the personal aspect you get with maybe other doctors.
Dr. Clarke was a Godsend to me. He and his staff at Ellis Bariatric have been so kind and caring. I was so scared going into this. I have had a fear of Doctors most of my life. They all put me at ease immediately and relieved all my fears. rnrnDr. Clarke and Michael Clock his PA have really been wonderful. The whole staff has been wonderful. I also have to say all the Doctors I was referred to for clearance were also very kind and caring. rnrnNo one treated me like I was an idiot or a child. rnrnThe only thing I would have liked was to have been able to see Dr. Clarke more through the process. Just for my own piece of mind I guess. I had 2 visits but they were good visits ~ he never tried to rush me out as some Doctors do. He let me ask all my questions and took his time answering. He really wanted to make sure I understood the risks and what would be happening.rnrnI give Dr. Clarke so much credit as well ... during my surgery he could have made his life a lot easier and just cut me open. He didn't .. he made my life easier by doing the laproscopic. I had 2 hernia surgeries in the past and had LOTS of scar tissue not to mention the mesh involved. What should have taken about 2 to 3 hours took him 5. But, I was home in 2 days and up around walking with no problems the night of the surgery. The credit goes to him and his perseverance. I'm not so sure how many other Doctors wouldn't have just called it a day and went for the open surgery. He didn't and I will love him forever for that.rnrnI also had an issue with a stricture after surgery and he was right on top of it and got me back in the hospital asap. rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Clarke and his team. They are a terrific group of people to have on your side.
In all honesty, at first I wasn't so sure about Dr. Clarke. Our first meeting was o.k....I'm not sure where I got some reservations but they were there for sure. After meeting him again and then going through the surgery (I am 3 days past my surgery now) I would DEFINITELY refer him to anyone interested in Gastric Bypass Surgery. He is very thorough with his explanations, he really seems to take interest in what your personal concerns are, and others that had him rave about him as well. The entire program at Ellis is just wonderful.. the pre-op process is well planned, organized, and designed to really motivate you as you lead up to your surgery date. My level of care while in the Hospital was excellent...the nurses were friendly and the Anesthesia department was AWESOME. I wish i could remember the anesthesiologist's name, but his explanation of what had to be done was incredibly thorough and his bedside manner was impeccable. If you've looked into other programs in the area like I did, and didn't feel comfortable with the whole process, I strongly recommend you look into Ellis.
My first impression was ok, he did the seminar. It was very informative and I was determined to follow through.rnrnThe first appointment with Dr. Clarke was a little strained. My husband came with me and we waited almost two hours before finally talking to their Pa, Dr. John. He provided alot of information and had set our minds at ease. Dr. Clarke finished the appt. Hubby was unsure or Dr. Clarke but as visits went on he changed his mind/rnrnI liked Dr. Clarke but now realize that there were a lot of information I was lacking. My surgery went very well with little complications. I was very slow to lose weight. Two months after surgery my husband was diagnosed with Leukemia, my surgery became an afterthought. I have not done but one follow up appointment and was chaised more than helped with getting me back on track. I have not returned.
