One of the kindest and most sincere surgeons I have ever met. I started out with another mean and unhappy surgeon that made me feel like a loser because I was ever overweight. Dr. Weaver is compassionate and just wants to help anyone who wants to help themselves. She is a god send to me!rnrnShe is so careful and does everything she can so that there are no complications. She has a great aftercare program and support group. I was very impressed at how much testing she did in advance so that she the most informed about my health and body. rnrnI have just had surgery (12/7/09) but have been her patient since (6/8/2008). I had a previous surgeon that gave me the band. At first it was great...I lost 130lbs. I started having problems about a year out and instead of trying to figure what was wrong he spent a lot of time telling me everything I was doing that was bad. Dr Weaver wanted to make sure that the band was at fault...and guess what...is was...slight slip and scar tissue that was causing me the problem. I am glad I had the revision done to the RNY and have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Weaver.

It was such a blessing to find Dr. Weaver. From the moment I met her, it was so apparent that she truly cares about her patients. Her staff is wonderful and has been so helpful. I feel comfortable with the fact that I know I can contact her office with any concerns. I really don't have anything other than positive comments to make about Dr. Weaver. Her compassion, her dedication to her patients and their health and her skill as a surgeon are amazing.

I met Dr. Weaver for the first time when I went for my final appointment where I got my surgery date. She was very nice. We talked about my surgery history and the possibility of adhesions getting in the way and she felt on my belly to see if everything seemed to move freely in there. She doesn't anticipate any problems just judging by the way things felt to her. We got the date scheduled with no problems, and I got the exact date I wanted - 12/18 - the day after my last final for the semester. rnDr. Weaver's office staff are all nice. I've dealt with the insurance lady so much that she knew my name and remembered a conversation we had had on the phone, and her nutritionist remembered me from class. I was impressed because I know they deal with so many people, and it made me feel like their patients matter to them.rnI can't wait for surgery day! I will update this after I'm home from the hospital.

I had lapband surgery in April with Dr. Woodman. Although I had heard different things about his horrible bedside manner, I decided to make up my mind for myself. While I agree with other reviewers that he may be a good surgeon, I did not find his communication style very useful. I had a very difficult time getting my questions answered. For example, on several occasions, I asked a specific question about my specific case and he only answered me in general comments. I recieved conflicting information from his staff and him. I agree he is direct; I also happen to prefer a mutual exchange of information. I did not feel listened to. I'm fairly assertive and tend to ask for what I need, but I was just not able to get consistent information from he and his staff. There is one nurse, Dory, I found to be direct and assertive, yet pleasant. I've decided to change to another physician as my 3 month postop period is now complete. This is my tool - I need to be able to get questions answered and get consistent information in order to be successful long term. I had no problems immediately post-op, minimal pain and no issues with infections, I lost adequate weight. I was not dissatisfied with clinical care, just an inability to communicate effectively with me.

Dr. Virginia Weaver is very well known in this area and regarded as the BEST in her field. That is why I chose her. She emphasizes aftercare and her staff works with you to educate you in each phase after surgery, they can be reached at any time and that is very reassuring. Dr. Weaver addressed the risks first and they are scarey, but the alternative is worse..Diabetes, High blood pressure, High cholesteral, sleep apenia, foot and joint pain, and weight gain due to certain medications..I am very sure that she will take all precautions to help me make it through this surgery, or I would not be having it. I have heard nothing but the best about Dr. Weaver.

My first impression of her was wow she is pretty and tall and thin. What does she know about being over weight. Well I was wrong. She is very down to earth and understanding. The office staff is approachable and knowledgable. I could not have picked a better surgeon.

First impression was thru a video presentation and I liked her from the start.rnMet her for the first time and she is as wonderful and personable as I knew she would be.rnThe office staff are wonderful.rnSo far there is nothing to dislike about her.rnThe doctor is very encouraging about after care and how important it is to follow up and keep up with appointments.rnDr Weaver had about 6 patients in the waiting room the morning I met her for the first time. She came out and sat down with us as a group and talked about the surgeries answered any questions we might have. I liked that it saved us time and her time by not having to repeat it over and over..Then we had our personal appointment time with her. rnI would highly recommend her to anyone I know.rnSurgical competence is definitely the most important thing about a doctor but bedside manner can speak a lot of their concern for humanity and their patients.

Dr. Weaver is a jewel of a person. She is very informative in explanations of procedures and protocol, before and after surgery. Her office staff are exactly the kind of people needed to work with low self esteem, and overweight people. They are all Masters at being friendly and kind. In her group question and answer session, she was very stern about post surgery, and how it would influence your final results. She deeply went over all the risks, minor and major of bariatric surgery, and answered questions as long as a hand was up. I feel that I have the best surgeon that this area of surgery has to offer. She came reccomended by several of my other doctors, and after I met her, I knew why.
Dr. Weaver has a beautiful personality, and her surgical skills, well. Just look at her record, It tells it all!
SHE IS THE BEST!
