I had my first visit with Dr. Peters on 2/1/01 and I really felt he was very thourough with the information he gave me. I also was very happy with the fact that there is a support group available and I will be attending my first meeting on Wed. I have my second appointment on 2/8/01 and Dr. Peters asked me to bring my hubby so he can ask the questions he wants to and also to ease his mind a little since he's a little worried about the whole procdure. Dr Peter's staff is very nice and personable and I am looking forward to my second visit.
2/8/01 We went to see Dr. Peters for my second visit. My husband must have driven him crazy with all his intense questions, but he answered all of them and very bluntly and honestly. My insurance approval went very smoothly thanks to Robbie and my surgery is scheduled on March 8,2001.

I have been communicating with Dr. Peters through e-mail. I was very shocked and pleased that he responded to my e-mail personally as soon as he received it. He gave me lots of info and even told me to be persistent when trying to get an appointment to meet him because his answering service is slow (lol). I am planning on getting the surgery done by him because of his knowledge and professional attitude.

It has been awhile since I updated my profile. Due to some family problems, I was forced to hold off on going forward with setting a surgery date. I have recently gone to see Dr. Peters again, and I am now on my way to trying to get the approval for my surgery!!! I just can't wait!!! I am very confident in having Dr. Peters do this surgery for me, he and his wife have made sure I am well informed of the risks and the benifits. Dr Peters has given me so much info, I can't even think of any more questions to ask!!! I know there are a few people who search this site for people to brainwash, putting Dr. Peters down. But I know for a fact. These people NEVER even had the surgery and Never even met Dr. Peters! I have done ALOT of research on him myself and obviously wouldn't have chosen him if I felt at risk! Well I guess thats about all for now, I will keep you all posted!

DR Peters IS very direct with the questions and all the risks.he gives a test at the end of his visit to make sure you knew what he was saying He gave me all the neg(risks)very clearly and all the benifits of this surgery also, explained the surgery very well, what can happen and what will happen.i the visit got me thinking and weighing the odds surgery or not.but i made the right choice.

Dr. Peters and his staff are very kind. He makes sure you are well informed about the surgery and the risks of the surgery. He was helpful and very prompt in answering email and returning phone calls when I had any questions. He stresses aftercare is very important, and there is a support group you can attend. I would recommend him to anyone considering WLS.

I have had a first consultation with Dr. Peters and found him most pleasant. Dr. Peters was very personable and was very thorough in his explanation of the risks and benefits of the surgery. He tried to scare me off with the risks, just to be sure I was aware of the seriousness of the surgery. He also gave a true/false test to make sure I understood what he had explained. He briefly explained the aftercare program, but said he would go into greater length at our second appointment. He insists everyone wait at least two weeks before his second meeting with you. Just to make sure you have given the surgery and its affects enough thought. He also said I could call or email him wiht any questions in the meantime. His staff was very friendly. I will write more after the second consultation. So far, I would rate him a 9. (nobody's perfect!)

My surgery is now complete. I have had no problems at all. Dr. Peters did an exceptional surgery on me. I had an open rny and would reccommend Dr. Peters to anyone. There is a support group available for pre-ops and post-ops to share information. It is attended by Dr. Peters as well.

Thank you Dr. Peters!

My first impression of Dr. Peters was that he is a very caring person who takes this procedure(s) seriously. He made me talk him into doing the surgery on me however I guess he then knew I was serious about this change in my life. All of his office help has been extremely knowledgable and sensitive to my needs. Dr. Peters puts the risks of surgery right out front the first office visit and then wants you to consider all the information provided to you before rushing into any procedure. I knew this was right for me and I knew he was the right one to do the procedure. He and his office help show the upmost professionalism and his bedside manner is very caring and concrened for our feelings, physically and emotionally. Aftercare has always been a concern of his, before he started a support group he would keep in touch by office visits and phonecalls. I can't say anything negative about this man, I beleive in him and what he represents. I know other people may not feel the exact same way I do however, I know that Dr. Peters saved my life in more ways than one.

when i first met dr peters i thought he was really down to earth. he seemed to understand where i was. my impression of him hasn't changed except iknow more about him as a doctor/surgeon. i have been to support meetings with some of his patients and i see that he is a caring physician. i feel that future patients should at least go and talk to him and make their own decision, i feel i'm making the right decision for myself. as for after care the patients at the meetings have all had great things to say. i'm sure that he'll be there for me also . his office staff is very friendly and helpful.dr peters lays it all out on the table i felt he gave the pros and cons and has very helpful and knowledgeable in answering all my questions and helping me make a decision on what surgery would be best for me,he gave me papers to read and explained the different types of surgery and didn't pressure me to make any rash decisions ,he has answered all my phonecalls and questions without any hesitation.

I was impressed with Dr.
Peters he was stright
forward with me.
Explained all the risks
and benefits of this
surgery.Gave me several
visits to assure why I
wanted the surgery and
made me question my own
doubts. His staff was
friendly,and made me
feel comfortable.Dr.
emphasized aftercare as
important. There seems
to be no follow up group
established, that is the
only thing I would
really like to have here
locally.I rate Dr. Peter
very highly
professional, and
compassionate. I feel
both surgical
competance,and bedside
manner as equally
important.
