Anderson Area Medical Center Hospital

This hospital has an awesome ICU! Everyone was waiting on me constantly! Wanted me to be as comfortable as possible. Spoils you when you go form ICU to a regular room. Beds are very uncomfortable in a regular room but very nice in ICU. Staff was all around very nice!

Before going into this hospital I heard both postive and negative things. From my expernice I didn't have any problems. My pre-op visit didn't take long at all. And after my surgery I received excellent care from the nursing staff and their assistants.

I called to apply for the surgery and they told me that I could not owe a penny in order to have this surgery. It made me feel as if they weren't sure the surgery was safe or a survival rate was low after the surgery.

I was very pleased with the care I received. I would use this hospital again if needed.

I had previously read reviews that said that the nursing staff was not receptive to this surgery and not helpful. I found all my nurses and other staff very helpful and comforting.

The staff nurses and cna's great caring and very quick to respond to call overall.

The service is very slow -? due to understaffing. There were stretches of up to 7-8 hours without ever being checked on by the nurse assigned to me for that shift. It was several hours once I was transferred from CCU to 4th floor before they were even aware I was there. This review does not apply to the ICU where I spent one night - they were very attentive. I had a nursing student for 2 days - without her I may never have gotten any care. I was sent home without any instructions (except from my doctor) from the staff. They also never offered to help me get out of bed or to walk - my husband helped me with those because no one ever asked or encouraged me to do those. I had to have my PCA pain medication changed to a different one and it was 3 hours before the nurse came to bring it to me. I only use this hospital because there is not another one in the area and it is where my insurance covers. I feel the only reason I made it out of there intact and healthy is the skill of my doctor and the fact that I am a nurse and knew what I needed to do and look for.

If the nurses would have brought my pain medication in a reasonable amount of time,my review would have been different. Some of the nurses just did not seem to care.

THe nursing staff on the 6th floor were extremely nice and supportive. I found all of them to be great except one (Janet)the rest were terrific.

I will only use this hospital if I have to. The nurses were very slow. If you needed something it usually took over an hour and you were made to feel like you were a chore to be delt with.
