I absolutely LOVE Dr. Pop!! He is genuine and kind and he truly is passionate about helping people find health! I have had excellent experiences with the staff, including the wonderful nurses who cared for me in recovery. They were patient and caring and extremely attentive!
The aftercare thus far has also been a positive experience - I feel like Dr. Pop takes time with me and I don't feel rushed when I am speaking with him. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Pop and his staff......I am very pleased with my surgery, my care and the results I have achieved so far!!!

My experience with Dr. Pop was outstanding. He was personal yet informative. He openly provides all the facts and his initial seminar is worth seeing by anyone considering weightloss surgery...I even brought my mom back with me once I decided. Once she heard Dr. Pop, the majority of her anxiety for me flew out the window!! He has an amazing bed side manner...his confidence in himself and what he does best is obvious...and that is to work on the human body! He is gifted.

In my experience, he has a great sense of humor...and may not be the doctor for you if you are looking for someone who is always serious or clinical. He will also tell you like it is...give it to you straight...and does NOT hold back...so if you are too sensitive, you may want to seek someone else! He was a perfect fit for me.

My entire experience with Dr. Poplawski and the staff at Barix Clinic was excellent. I always felt cared for as an individual. Dr. Poplawski was very compassionate and professional to the point where I always felt I was in competent hands. He is a master at what he does. Always answered my questions, took his time and expressed great patience.

What can I say? Dr. Taylor changed my life forever, in the best way possible. He is a thoughtful kind doctor who answers all your questions in easy to understand answers, and has a genuine passion for what he does. I can assure you if you choose him to do your surgery you will be pleased with him as a doctor as well as the surgery.
It has been almost 2 years since my surgery - I feel fantastic. The staff at Barix clinic and Dr. Taylor are awesome. I felt I put myself in "the" best hands for this surgery traveled 5 hours for pre and post op care and would do it all over again. The only regret I have is I didn't do it sooner!
All the best to you, your staff, and the incredible nurses!

I had surgery on March 30, 2011 at the Barix Clinic and I am very pleased with the care before and after and thatb I continue to recieve when I call with questions My Dr, Dr. Jamokay Taylor is very good at what he does when I first met him i thought he was to young to be the Dr. but he in fact was. He is highly trained and skilled at this profession because he started his education early on and continued to get the training he needed head on. He has a very good personailty and cares about you as an individule and not just another job. I highly reccomend him as the dr. to see if yiu are interested in talking to someone about weightloss surgery.

He was bit low keyed and aloof but as you get to talk with him you find he really know his stuff. He is willing to work with you to make the experience less stressful but expects his staff to provide you expert quality care. He is realistic is what he expects from you and has answered all my questions well.

Dr. Jamokay Taylor was my bariatric surgeon and I must say choosing him was the best decision I made during my entire process. My first impression of him was that he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I was also struck by how easy on the eyes he was! lol. He took the time to explain the operations in detail and answered all of my questions in a way that was very simple to understand. I had been to other bariatric seminars before and sometimes felt rushed or as though I didn't have enough one on one time with the actual surgeon. But that wasn't the case with Dr. Taylor. His presentation was by far the most informative and easy to digest, and he was immediately available to address all of my questions and concerns. I especially liked the fact that he only performs bariatric surgery and that his hospital is a bariatric hospital specializing exclusively in bariatric surgery.....nothing else.
Dr. Taylor was very compassionate and had a relaxed assurance that left me feeling completely confident in his ability to perform my gastric sleeve and take care of me afterwards. I knew I had made the right decision after my initial consultation. I had surgery about a month ago and I feel great! The staff at Warrenton Weight Loss Institute was extremely professional and courteous. The whole process from the very beginning was straight forward and easy, and I didn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to have surgery. When I was in the hospital I was well taken care of and the nurses were very friendly and addressed my needs quickly. The aftercare has been very organized and thorough. I rate Dr. Jamokay Taylor and the staff at Warrenton Weight Loss Institute a 10/10 and I highly recommend him to anyone considering bariatric surgery.

I had surgery here 9 years ago. My stay was wonderful and the staff was fantastic, however, their lifetime follow up care is a joke.

I have done well up until 2 years ago, when I began having seizures from low potassium( I am unable to maintain electrolyte balances), I have been back there a few times after several verbal confrontations with the scheduler(s) that want you to see your family doctor for gastric bypass issues. My doctor will not touch this and always refers me back to Barix. Once it took a nasty posting on here to get an appointment that did not happen. They were running over 3 hours late and I had to leave to get my husband to the airport.

Recently, I have become a chronic puker, went to an appointment out there in January and had a swallow test. I only spoke with Dr. Schram on the phone, who tried to brush me under the carpet by saying I had the flu. It is about 2 months later and I am still puking.

Dr. Schram stated he wanted me to get a CT scan to see if something was going on lower, I asked him to mail me the prescription, it never arrived. I called back up there and discussed the CT scan with Tracy(?). I was under the impression I would be receiving the prescription in the mail. To date, I have not received it, along with no phone call as to why.

Now, I have intense weight gain from the steroids to treat the new seizures, still puking that is being dismissed as the flu. And, no follow up contact to my phone call about the CTscan.

Inpatient, I would strongly recommend them but out patient your on your own. I have tried to see other bariatric surgeons and they will not touch another surgeons work and also will keep referring you back to your surgeon.

My only question is, how to get adequate follow up care, even years later. I feel they took the money, didn't explain this aspect and leave you alone to suffer and probably suffer an early death.

Way to go Barix, awsome way to treat your patients. We look to you for help, and the only help we get polite directions of where to go and it is not Ypsilanti.

I have had the most wonderful experience with Dr. Taylor and Barix Clinic. My first procedure had to be aborted because my liver was too enlarged to get around. Dr. Taylor and Barix Clinic teamed up and helped me lose enough weight that my surgery was able to be performed.

He had exceptional bedside manner and is VERY compassionate. His work is meticulous and I would trust him with my life.
