Bayshore Hospital Hospital

I stayed 1 night came home, became ill again and had to go back. when I went back I had to go through the ER and that was bad, it was full, no place to sit,
each person coming into the ER brought with them apporx. 3 to 4 people each, and when i was taken to the back(in pain) a young girl came in and asked me to please pay her for this visit, after I had just Pd. them $834.00 on Monday, for a approx 2 night stay, and only stayed 1 night so I am sure I should have had a CREDIT? None the less, you are told not to bring any money with you into the hospital, so I had to ask the young lady, please please wait until my husband comes back (from going hm to p/u my overnight bag) to pay. Yet I was still required to show her my insurance card and id(while in the er room after I had just had to show it 45 min. earlier when I entered the ER) back to visits:
1st time bed really hurt my back and bottom,
2nd time, room was so HOT, bed felt better but I had to ask for a fan to keep cool. Both nights I was in the hospital the fire alarms went off, and rang for about 10-15 min each time.
ps before you go into the hospital they should tell you what the nurses responsiblities are and what the tech's
are aloud to do.
alot of people told me not to go to Bayshore, it was not a good hospital, and sad to say they were right, it was not a very good experience.

I am an RN so please remember that is were I am coming from. The only problem I had with them was they were not very good about turning me and assisting me with walking. I always had to initiate this and THEY should have been the ones initiating it. Otherwise they were all very caring, very quick with pain medicine etc.

The foot of the hospital bed did not work, and I was stuck with this bed longer than I liked (around 24 hours), but I finally got someone to change it out. It seemed silly that it took them so long to exchange the bed, when they had so many empty ones.
No one told me what to do about my meds, and I was concerned because my blood pressure was going up my second day, so I went ahead and took the meds. A few hours later I threw up, and I asked the nurse to tell the doctor I threw up, but I don't think she ever did. It was the weekend, and they wanted everyone out of the hospital. My mother was with me and made my stay much more comfortable.
What puzzled me was, in the papers my surgeon gave me, I was told that I would be in the hospital 3-4 days after surgery, and I was released on the 2nd day. But now, all is good, and I'm glad it's over.
The nurses were nice.
