Cabell Huntington Hospital (COE) Hospital

I felt that the nurses were understaffed and unable to keep up with all of the patients assigned to them. They let my epidural run out on Thursday and it took them more than 2 hours after I first notified them that it was out to come in the room and do anything about it. I was very upset. My roommate was a cancer/surgery patient and at times she would have at least 15 visitors on her side of the room, laughing, chattering. I know I couldn't get any rest so I can imagine that she was also unable to rest either. The staff wasn't very assertive in making sure that the "2 visitors per patient" rule was followed at all. I was very disappointment in the care that I received while I was there.

The staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital were fantastic. Several RN's went out of their way to help me and make sure I was doing well. (Dan, Linda and Sharon). The others were great too. They had the special beds that sit up into a sitting position, oversized potti chairs and wheel chairs. They provided walkers and monitored me often to make sure I was doing well.

I liked everything about the hospital and staff... They were all very wonderful and helpful..They answered any questions or concerns I had and were just great with dealing with me and my surgery..All though the surgery itself was uncomfortable at times, the care I received and speady deliverence of pain medication made all the difference in the world..I would gladly recommend Cabell for WLS..
