Hillcrest Hospital Hospital

I'd never had surgery so I wasn't sure what to expect and of course watching TV isn't helpful because it isn't reality. Upon checking in, I was taken back, given clear instructions, but the staff was incredibly nice. They understood my fears, helped alleviate my nerves, allowed my family to visit before leaving. After surgery I was taken to ICU as a precaution where I was met with angels. My nurses were nothing short of amazing. They encouraged me to walk, assisted me with any request, and answered any question I had. The attention I received was very personal and I felt like family. Everyone was very sweet including the nursing manager, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, etc. I've never met a better group of health care providers who are so attentive to their patients. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

The hospital stay was OK. They would not let me walk after I got into my room. The nurses were saying that I should not. I was too drugged to clearly explain why, and John listened to what the nurses said. I was asking over and over for someone to help me get up and walk. Only at 10 p.m. finally a different nurse got upset that I did not walked and they helped me get up from the bed (finally).
