Southcrest Hospital Hospital

None of the floor staff knew how to do a BP on a large person! One person had the cuff up to 260/171! I still have the bruises! They could not get it thru their heads that just because a person is large doesn't mean their blood pressure is high. My husband told them repeatedly to look at the ER vitals sheet, but they didn't. I've been in many hospitals as both a patient and employee and this one was unfriendly, ill equiped and had no idea how to take care of a large person. They assumed a stereo type that just doesn't exist! Even their ancillary staff was rude to indifferent.
I would be afraid to go back there because they made mistakes in my medications and my diet. If I had been heavily medicated and not able to notice the mistakes, I'm not sure what would have happened.
I have extensive allergies and even though I had a lenghthy discussion with the dietitcian, every tray they brought was composed of at least half foods I was allergic too. And then they wonder why I'm not eating? LOL
Perhaps I hit them at a bad time, but they refused to listen to concerns I had. Refused to contact my doctor or tell me how to get in contact with him. It was not myb normal doctoe.

I can't say enough good about SouthCrest and the wonderful nurses who took care of me during my stay. They were extremely knowledgeable and so caring. Everyone I had contact with was exceptionally nice and willing to help in any way that I needed. I would very highly recommend future bariatric patients to check out SouthCrest.
