It is a bariatric hospital - there are large chairs all over the hospital, no one stared at me or made me feel self-conscious, it was very private. I was always in a small group in any public space, which made it seem very private.

Everything is great! Clean, nurses try not to bother you too much, but they must do their job!

Very nice and knowledgeable staff. I had a allergic rxn to vancomycin and the nurse in pre op noticed it right away. She went all the way to help me out.

The hospital is fairly new. The only complaint I have at all about Southern Surgical Hospital is the beds, not very comfortable after surgery (but what bed is other than your own).

However, the care and compassion was unbelievable. Having had nine previous surgeries for other reasons at other hospitals, I have never felt so comfortable and in such capable hands as I did at Southern Surgical Hospital. They just couldn't do enough. Every person there had a smile and a kind word.

I would recommend this hospital to anyone having WLS. The staff is very competent and the waiting time was miminal. The nurses in recovery were very attentive to all my needs.
