I chose this hospital because I had a very good experience in 2008 when I had my lapband removed. They are very knowledgable, kind and caring.

I also had a very positive experience with the nursing staff, operating room staff..prep before surgery this time around for the sleeve. I had choices of hospitals..and this was it..

Thank you to them for all their good work and care.

i want to just vent on my horrific hospital stay!!
When the night shift nurses came on, i was really dissapointed. i had a male nurse and he completly ignored me. I would press the call button and for 25 min (i timed it on my phone) no one would respond!! 1 of my monitors fell off the bed and off my finger and i was beeping like crazy and loud too!, and no one even cared to come check on me. finally i got up by myself and walked myself and whole IV set up to the nurses station and complained and asked for help. my nurse was no where to be found. this continued through the night, he let my urine collector container that was in the toilet overflow and when i started my period i had to track him down and ask for a pad and i was never brought one, i had to wait and ask a passing nurse and all she gae me was a "pee-pee" pad to put on my bed and lay on. By morning i had had enough of being ignored, even other nurses that i incounterd were ill mannered and rude, didnt seem to care about me or my needs at all, and i did not demand much! the pain pump wasnt working and no one could reach my doctor for authorization for IV pain meds. so i just told them to take the pump off.

soon after i realized that my feelings were more hurt from being mis treated at the hospital then the actual pain i was in and i was very upset and crying and the crying was hurting my incisions. so i called my hubby to come back up and decided to check my self out. i might as well have been home, i was getting no care there.

but whatever.... the hospital i was at: St. Claires Dover, NJ claims to be a hospital of "excellence".... I THINK NOT!!! they should be ashamed of themselves!!!

oh also!! i wasnt happy that although it was a bariatric floor only, i somehow was roomed with a 86 pound cancer patient on chemo therepy and they were bringing her huge trays of meatloaf, bacon and eggs, etc.

it was a total disaster and i have never felt so ignored and uncared for in my life. i will be making a formal complaint. i am not a "problem" patient and i deserved at least the proper care as stated in my post op papers.

thanks for causing my nothing but more pain and heart ache and unessesary tears St Claires!!!

your staff is pathetic, cold and have no compassion!!

I would avoid this hospital. Staff grossly overworked, rooms small and crowded. Lack of attention after surgery was negligent. I had surgical complications and had my husband not had been there by my side watching and screaming for medical attention, I would be dead.

The hospital is known as a Center of Excellence. There were not enough bariactic arrangements made for patients undergoing bariactric surgery. Bigger beds were needed, more large sized chairs and no large wheelchair could be found <--that was very embarassing.
