UMass Memorial Hospital

My hospital experience was excellent. I had a couple allergic reactions to some medicine and they were very attentive and helped me immediately. The nursing staff was incredible and very helpful. I would recommend UMASS Memorial and the weight center at UMASS University Campus to anyone who is in driving distance to the Worcester area.

Because I sleep with a CPAP, my hospital required me to spend the night in the recovery room. The nurses and aides were wonderful there, but it is too bright and too noisy to sleep. The next day I was moved into a room where I did sleep a little better. Nurses and aides make a big difference in your stay. One night I had really good ones, another night not so good (It was as if the aide didn't want to touch me). I'm sure the doctor gives them orders to take vitals, but I sure wish they could try to do that when you're awake. All-in-all, it was a pretty good experience. I'd go there again.

This hospital was extremely clean, the nursing staff are wonderful, I can not say enough about my hospital stay there compared to the stay my husband received at Umass 2 weeks prior to my stay at Umass Memorial. Seems confusing, both are ran together... but I loved Memorial so much better than Umass... just my opinions... and yes, I was taking notes :)

My only complaint was that I was supposed to spend the night after surgery and they could not accomodate me with a room to stay so they were going to keep me in the recovery room for the duration of my stay. It was brightly lit, the the nurses were noisy, and of course there was recovering patients all around you in various stages of pain. So after a couple of hours of that I requested to go home and recover instead. After my Dr. checked me over he let me go. So it turned out well in the end.
