Having surgery under Dr. Peter Lalor at Wood County Hospital was a great experience. The nursing staff was excellent. They were all very attentive to my needs and very pleasant! They all cared about what was going on with their patients, as well as having a great interaction on the personal level as well. They really made you feel comfortable (as you can be with having a major surgery). The housecleaning, CNT, radiology department, and just all that were involved in this process were such professionals. I am glad that I made the choice to drive over an hour to see Dr. Lalor and then end up having this surgery at WCH! They all rock!
This was the best hospital stay I've ever had. Staff was very attentive n knowledgable . They never made me feel fat or a burden. They actual have a staff member that makes hourly rounds to see if u need anything n to make sure u r up to date with drs orders n test results. I received excellent care.
The staff was on top of things at all times. My stay was one of the best hospital stays I have had. I cannot say enough for the way the nursing staff was always there with a smile. The only issue I had was the window to the hallway, that had no covering. I had to always remind the staff to close the door at night, to drown out all the noise.
The hospital was just remodeled (I was only the 2nd patient to stay in my room), and they're still adjusting to it. One issue was that closing the door does not provide complete privacy, due to a window. A curtain also needs to be pulled, and that was something I had to continually remind people of. Also, if you call for help and they say they'll be right there then they should be right there. If it's going to be a few minutes I'd rather them tell me that then tell me they're on their way! Otherwise it was a great hospital, and the staff is well-equipped to handle any weight-related issues.
It is a real nice hospital. Although I wish my room would have stayed private while I was there the few days after surgery.
I really had no complaints with the hospital. I received good care from all of my nurses. The only thing that irritated me was that I had a roommate on the last night of my stay and I had to listen to her coughing and throwing up all night. She also STUNK like smoke so my whole room smelled like it. Thank God it was my last night there!
