Bernadette Wang Ashraf Plastic Surgeon MD

I love Dr. Ashraf. First of all, she is like being with a friend. I feel totally comfortable talking to her. I feel that she has gone over and above what most other doctors would do. She has called me right back (even on a Sunday night) when I thought I might have a problem. She called my insurance company and advocated for me with a staff physician. Her support person (Tameka) in her Duluth office is just the sweetest. Ann (the PA) is a doll too. I trust Dr. Ashraf's medical opinions 100%. Left up to my own devices, I would get in trouble. Dr. Ashraf always errs on the side of caution in order not to create problems for healing, etc.
I had abdominoplasty on 4/8/05 and I can't believe the difference its made to my body. I know I will love the results when all of this swelling goes down.

I called the office of Dr. Wang Ashraf today to setup an initial consultation so I have not yet met the doctor. I did however speak with Roberta, the person that handles the insurance and she was extremely helpful in taking the time to tell me what is involved in getting my ins company (BCBS/PPO of GA) to pay. She explained the whole process and told me several things that i should be prepared to bring if I expected to get the insurance company to pay. I was told that My case will be a bit different because I did not have WLS. I am 5'0" and I had a starting weight last year of 230. As of today, I am down to 28% body fat, weighing in at 170. I was never able to qualify for WLS so I had to struggle to get to the 170 mark. I hope to be able to get the ins comp to foot the bill and help get all this excess skin removed. If the doctor is as easy to work with as Roberta was, I am sure this will be the plastic surgeon that I choose. I will update with more when I have the consultation which is scheduled for 2/14/05.

Dr. Ashraf is a fantastic surgeon. She really knows her profession and is a true artist.
I had a Fll Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift....I am now 3 weeks out and I have to say that she is the most fantastic surgeon that I have ever come across....not only the surgery and the results, but the after care has been phenominal!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!

Dr. Ashraf was so incredible to work with. I was able to get the surgery covered on my first try with her. (After being turned down twice with Dr. Marissa Lawrence) And, during that process Tamika was a godsend! She's the one who handles the insurance. She'd actually call to update me and even found someone at Blue Cross/Blue Shield to fax my information to direct, after I was told they hadn't received anything! Dr. Ashraf was very kind in explaining everything to me and on October 8th I had my surgery done with her. I had a tummy tuck, brachioplasty on my arms, liposuction on my thighs and hips, and a breast lift/reduction. Everything turned out great! I am very pleased with the results. I may have to go back in for some minor adjustments but, Dr. Ashraf explained that to me beforehand. She's very knowledgable and her staff is accomodating. I'd recommend her to anyone and intend to use her for anything I may need in the future.

The Dr. was wonderful! However, she had one person in the office the was very rude. This person was Marian who handles the insurance. She really only likes dealing with self pay.She told me when I was at the office that as of SEPT. they would no longer take my insurance so I wanted to get it in quick. She told me that she sent my paper work in,but after talking with my insurance she did not.She got really mad at me when I called her back and told her that my insurance had no record of anything.Time is running out so I will have to go to another Dr. because they are no longer going to take my insurance.Wonderful Dr. bad taste for the office!!!!!!

I will be going under the knife on 4/12 with Dr. Wang Ashraf and very excited. Both Dr. Wang and her asst. were very helpful in answering any questions I've had up to this point and I will add more when my abdominoplasty is done.
5/10/04 - The surgery was uneventful (thankfully) and I'm just at the stage where I've got to wait and see how my body shapeshifts. Dr Wang Ashraf is very helpful with any questions that I have and is more than willing to discuss what the future is going to hold with having to possibly do a bit of reconstructive work b/c she feels that wls patients are NOT typical PS patients and they usually need to be worked on in stages. Would see her again for ANYTHING I'm considering having done in the future.
