congratulations.  It is so exciting.  I am going through Windsor so it might be a bit different but for my first nurse appointment, I had to bring my completed homework - we went through the questions; she asked me a lot of questions, and she explained the procedure to me again - a repeat of the orientation.  She really put my mind at ease and was not judgemental at all - it was a very encouraging appointment.  Best of luck to you.

At the NP assessment my weight was checked, she then went over my medical history, asked me to outline the RnY and sleeve procedures, measured my waist and did an examination of my mid section (tummy down to intestine area), she ended with recommendations for vitamins I need to start taking now and advising nothing further needed from her area.

good luck with your appointment!

Thanks everyone. Did anyone bring spouse/support to their appt with the nurse practitioner? Or is this one I should let him stay at work for ;) ?

I brought my mom...and it was nice because she remembered stuff that I didn't in regards to medical history and then after the appointment when I was filling the sibling in.

I went through TWH.  I went to that meeting by myself but you can bring someone if you want to.  The only meeting I don't think you can is the Psych.

We just went over my health and family health from what I remember.

Congrats on your first steps! That's so exciting! Wow, your appointments are close together!

My orientation is December 12th! I have a question, did they give you your next appointments AT orientation, or do they call shortly afterward?

Also, how long was orientation?

:)

You should get your first three appointments at orientation, I say should as there have been some people who seem to have gotten just the psych appointment and others who have gotten the nurse and social worker but were missing the nutrition class.

Orientation last around 2hours.

my orientation was 2 hours and yes, at the end they gave me a sheet with my first 3 appointments on it. You also have paper work and blood work to do before your first appointment.
