Some anxiety

I had my appointment with the Humber internist. And I was cleared for surgery but don't yet have a date. I've since found my anxiety level is rising. Although I'm prepared for any time now, I'm hoping I don't get the call til after Christmas because there is so much to do!

Referred January 7/17, Orientation Humber May 28/17, Meet Dr. August 4/17, TRIO November 3/17, Internist November 21/17, Surgeon again December 21/17, Pre-op assessment January 4/18 and Surgery January 12/18.

Congratulations Leslie!

Yes this is a busy time of year and that doesn' help anxiety either. Unless you like me and love everything Christmas.

The waiting for the phone to ring drives us all pretty crazy. I had it with in the bathroom many times when no one else was home to answer.

Congratulations again and soon you will be on the losers bench.

I'm guessing you wont have to worry about a date before Christmas. You might get the call but I'd put money on surgery being in the new year.

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

You can also defer to the New Year. If December isn't good for you then just tell them.

I work in retail so there's no way I can EVER do December. The best time for me is January through end of March. They know that and I'm hoping to fall in there somewhere.

Congratulations Leslie! No doubt the timing will be perfect for you! Or like SweetRide said, you can defer until the new year. :)

I felt the same way last year. I was so anxious about it I just called them and asked how likely it was that I'd get in before Christmas, and they said not very likely, lol. They also gave me the option to wait until after Christmas, so I chose to wait. I had to either drive 10 hours or fly to Toronto for surgery and for the pre op visit and I was concerned about the weather, and about needing to book rooms etc. around the holidays. I ended up flying both times because we had between 5-6 feet of snow last year, and the highways kept closing.

It worked out well for me because I had my pre op visit in early January, then surgery on Feb. 1st, after 3 weeks of Opti. I can't believe how quickly the time has passed.

It will all work out the way it should for you too. Take some deep breaths when the anxiety gets bad, and focus on how great you'll soon feel.

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017

Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017
