weight loss on track? eating causing it?
It has been 4 weeks since i had wls and i have only lost 32 pounds is that an ok amount? i also can only get about about 1 oz of food in once a day is that bad? could that be what is causing me not to lose? i do get in 15oz of protein drink in in the am and about 20 additional oz of water but that is all i can get right now. could that also cause it? i am just very worried i am doing something wrong.
That is an OK amount of weight to lose but you are not getting enough fluids in. You are at 35 ounces because the shake counts but should be at 64 ounces per day. It's easy to get dehydrated and that will make you feel sick and not like eating. You really need your liquids and 60 grams of protein so you can heal. Keep liquids with, you all the time and drink often. I know I did better with room temperature and warm beverages right after surgery.
A lot of how much you lose each month depends on where you start at.....
I am what is called a "lightweight" because I only had aprox 70 pounds to lose overall so eight pounds was the right amount for me the first month.
You have done an amazing job at 32 pounds keep it up and I bet you won't hardly recognize yourself a year from now.

I am 5 weeks post op and have lost a total of 33 pounds but 14 of that was preop liquid diet. I weighed 241 when I came home from the hospital. I think your weight loss is great. On the other hand, I think my weight loss is great too. At first, like you, I thought I was doing something wrong because I wasn't losing a ton of weight each week but after talking to people on OH I realize that everyone has their own pace. As long as we follow our plan, it WILL come off. Everyone is right. You must drink water and eat protein. Period. Just do it. Just keep sipping and sipping. It gets easier. Go us!
