Good frozen morning menu folks! The temperature here isn't horrible, but there are 30-40 mph winds driving the wind chill way below 0F. I am working from home today, but I had to drive my wife to work this morning. It was really cold and I was glad that I didn't have to be out in it for very long. We only got about 2 inches of snow, but the cold and wind have been bad and will continue through the weekend.

Here's sending warm thoughts to everyone feeling the cold and storms. Stay warm and drink lots of warm drinks!

QOTD: I truly believe that my biggest success is my improved health and strength. While some of that is directly because of the weight loss, alot of it is helped by my commitment to exercise. Also now that I am in maintenance, I am committed to keeping at a good weight and continuing to eat and exercise in healthy ways.

Accountability: I did really well yesterday sticking to my plan. The only extra was a ginger cookies that my wife had been hording and shared with me. She says that that is the last one though, so it will help me to stay off the carbs without having treats around the house!

Menu:

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, 2 oz ham, 1/2 cup plain oatmeal (yummy and warm!)

Snack: protein shake

Lunch: chicken breast, baby carrots

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple

Dinner: shrimp, broccoli

Exercise: I hope to brave the cold to go to the pool and get in an hour of swimming

Thanks. I plan to stay in as much as possible today. I will go out to go swimming and to get my wife from work, but that is probably it. I called the pool this morning and it is so cold that they are delaying opening. Argh!

Good morning everyone! It's 13* here and that's basically what we are calling a heat wave.

qotd: hard to say from this pre-op vantage point but success for me will mean learning, or at least managing, self control.

breakfast: coffee with SF creamer

lunch: work is still catering in. I was really hoping they'd be done after the holidays, but they are only lessening the frequency of the free food, which is at least better than before. They are now catering once a week, though this is the second time this week. Today is Mexican, my biggest weakness. I was going to bring my own lunch and white knuckle through everyone around me eating it, but realistically speaking I will probably eat the food, and jus****ch portions and skip the rice.

Dinner: a protein shake or a spinach salad.

Photo: we just got a fountain-Style water dish for the kitties. I don't think any of them have taken a sip from it, but they sure do think it's fascinating to watch!

Love the pic, do your cats swat at the water with their paws?
