Hello there

First off welcome to our side in a few more days! You will love it!

Had GERD supposedly pre-surgery and still have it! Since surgery three years ago this week, it was hell the first two and a half years. Finally found a med that keeps it at bay! Pariet 20mg BID. I have had attacks so bad I blacked out from the pain. It is just like a knife cutting through your body when having a night time attack. The last ER visit, I had one smart cookie of a doctor and figured it out and doubled the meds. Has been heaven ever since. Well it's heck of a lot better. I tried lots of different meds prior to this one working. Good Luck!!

Hugs

My surgeon told me VSG can make GERD worse. I'm not an expert and don't know much, but you may want to look into before surgery. I've also read that some people have gotten relief from GERD post VSG, so there's always a chance yours could get better.
