New to Site - Have surgery date

 Hello!

I am a new member.  I will be having the sleeve done on 3/14.  I have just come down with a sore throat, so am nervous that it will be put off.  I see my pcp on Monday for my chest xray.  

I am very, very nervous.  Have had a close friend die during "routine" surgery, so I have some concern.  Also have had a close family member that had gastric bypass done, and in nine months is incredibly happy and lost a TON of weight.  I am really happy for her, and hope for a happy result for myself.

I started the pre-op diet last sunday, and down 8 lbs as of Thursday.  I hope this is the start of a better, healthier life.

Not sure what else to say... Hope to get to know more people.

Hi there, welcome! I am new to the site as well, there are a lot of very nice people here willing to provide lot's of support and advice.:)

As for your surgery date-congrats!! I am jealous, I don't have date yet, but hear it should be sometime in April.

I thinks it'sonly natural to be nervous and a bit scared;especially since you just recently lost a good friend. Try to be positive and think of the end result...and how much healthier you will be and feel!

I got a cold from my little girl, the whole family got it. I am hoping that it will be a very short lived cold. I would hate to have the date postponed.
