On this journey to be a better me...

Went for my seminar on 10/24...met with my surgeon and patient advocate on 11/14. I have Cigna and I must do a 3 month supervised diet, so I am seeing the surgeons in-house dietician. I also have to have an EGD in early January, see a psychologist for evaluation and sign-off and then get my PCP to sign off.

My patient advocate has said that once everything is complete, they will submit and I should look to have my surgery at the end of January/first of February.

I have a long way to go to get to take my first step, but it is a journey I am so thrilled to make!!

Thanks for all the posts and pics, they are so inspiring while I go through the buildup to the big day!

Congrats on getting started. Time will fly and before you know it, it will be time for surgery.

Take advantage of the 3 month period - figure out what led to your weight gain, why you eat, and start building good habits that you will transform into a total life style change. The best thing you can do for yourself is start that transition now and make sure you are as healthy as possible - mentally, physically, and emotionally before surgery.

Good luck!
