I had a DS, and have not had any problems and have NO regrets.

Check out all options, not just the ones your current surgeon is offering.

Be sure to check out the DS, too--it leaves you with a fully-functional stomach, not just a pouch. Cuts down on food intolerances, etc.

I am one year, 9 months out, and I wouldn't change a freakin' thing! Best think I did for myself.

hi there

**i was asked that same question today by a friend who is thinking of lapband -- my answer -- NOT FOR 1 DAY!!!
**i had surgery on 11/22/06 and i am grateful each and every day
**i eat what i choose to eat -- within reason -- i drink what i choose to drink -- within reason -- i pay attention to what i eat -- i do not rush when i eat or drink -- and i still read labels on foods
**i have never had an adverse reaction
**i did not lose my hair -- only my weight
**i still take my vitamins each and every morning like i was told to do on day 1
**i do not eat pasta, rice, bread, potato on a regular basis at all -- in fact i don't eat rice or pasta at all -- very very rarely i will eat a roll if we go out to eat and i am starving!!
**i do not drink my meals - ever
**i am very lucky that my insurance at the time approved my surgery and i do not take it for granted for 1 second of my life

enough said :)

good luck
roberta
