Haven't had liquid diet???

My pre-op appointment is Thursday and surgery is scheduled for June 20th, but they have not told me to start a liquid diet yet. Should I be concerned?

Call and ask what the pre=op protocol is.

I did not have to do a liquid diet --- I was instructed to stop eating/drinking by midnight the night before surgery.

Make sure you have explicit pre-op/day of/post-op instructions for meds, food, etc.

I never had to do one....call your doctor's office.

I didn't have to do a liquid diet. My instructions were to eat lightly the day before and nothing by mouth after midnight.

 Each dr's office is different.  My surgery is the 21st.  I was told low fat 2 weeks prior, clear liquids 24 hours prior to date, and then nothing after midnight.
