Need suggestions on how to get back on track
I am almost 3 years out from my RNY. I lost my son to suicide and have regained about 40 pounds. I have done the counseling and the self-destruction bit for over a year and a half. I am now ready to get back to living and would like to go back to losing the weight. I could use advice/support or a kick in the pants from someone who has regained weight and taken it off again. I know I should try the protein train but that is easier said then done. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
I am so sorry about your son. Go easy on yourself. You took care of yourself the best way you knew how at the time.
Just take it one day at a time. Pick one thing you can do and stick to and do it for one day. If that is drinking a lot of fluids or walking for an hour or not eating things with sugar, whatever you know you can do. Then pick another change. Don't look to break all your bad habits in one day.
If you are drinking sugared drinks maybe you can replace them with water or sugar free drinks. If you are drinking with meals then set a timer for 30 minutes after you eat. Once you are able to break one habit you will gain the confidence to work on another.

So very sorry about your son. I am working on 50 lbs of regain myself. I think you got some good tips from folks here. Back to the beginning, drink your water, eat your protein, and move more.
It sounds so simple doesn't it??? lol... we can do this, honest.
