Stuttering. My extra gift
So I have brought with me a souvenir from my great 11 day adventure of undergoing VSG. A stutter.
I'm not going to freak out about it. I have an appointment to get my bile drain out tomorrow so I will talk to my doctors about it then but I was wondering if anyone else ever dealt with a temporary stutter after surgery?
Sometimes if my blood sugar gets too low, I have trouble speaking, I stutter, and really cannot process information very well. Thankfully, this has only happened a few times. Now I stay hydrated and always have a snack around. I know you are still early out from surgery though. I have not had surgery yet but it's just what comes to mind.
I really hope you get it figured out! You've really had a hard time! Good luck!
What kind of pain meds have you been on recently? I ask because I take Tramadol and Flexeril for pain from spine issues. For the past couple of months, I have been confusing words when I speak, inserting the wrong word in sentences, etc.
But now I am starting to stutter! It is mild, and I can identify it when it starts to happen. But it is alarming to me just the same. I need to talk to my pain doc and see what is going on as I am certain it is one of those two meds.
For joy! What a pain for a great communicator! Maybe it will go away when you get less stressed and settle in a bit?
