Just looking for other local people sharing this journey. Thought it might be cool to share good places to eat or places not to eat, etc. :-)

Hi I am from kenner but currently in ky. I had my surgery with Dr. bellanger in 2007. I had a gastric sleeve. Unfortunately, i have been gaining a lot of weight back. I feel like I am the person I hated before my surgery. I let myself get off program and now I can't get myself going again. whatever you do stay on program. At this point I don't know what to do. I don't usually see others on boards/forum that have had the sleeve for years like me. I am open to any help.

thanks,

brenda

I'm 13 days out, down 14lbs tomorrow I move on to mushy foods. Thanksgiving will be a red potato and a piece of banana.

That's great! If I could give any advice (even though I am only a few weeks more than you) it would be don't get too caught up with the scale. I was losing about a pound a day then nothing for over a week and I didn't change anything.  It had me questioning everything and then I dropped 5 pounds like nothing.  I think there is no rhythm or rhyme to our weight loss now.  Enjoy your thanksgiving! No potatoes for me :( I've sworn off all white cards and major starches - at least for now! I miss them, but I am trying to go as long as I can without those complex carbs.  I am looking forward to the Turkey - its good protein so that makes it a win-win!

I wouldn't be eating potato if I could have something else but that's one of the things on my mushy foods list, the list is very short. Dec 4th I can have beans so I'll be make a pot of red beans.  no rice, I'll be eating mine like a soup.

I completely understand that! It sucks when you are so limited, but it won't be for long and you'll be planning your meals with lots of options!  I know there are a lot of recipes on Shelly's page theworldaccordingtoeggface.com - if you haven't seen it already - you might like it - she's got recipes from al different stages too! I've been thing of trying Quinoa as a substitute for rice and spaghetti squash as a substitute for pasta - just haven't gotten around to it yet! so much to do and always so little time!
