Feeling Hungry

So I'm about 9 weeks out and I feel like I'm more hungry more often and like I can eat more. I know I was supposed to progress from 1/4c to 1/2 to a cup, but that makes me nervous. Plus I feel like sometimes I eat and then an hour and a half later I'm hungry.  It's only been like this the past few days. I'm trying not to drink before I eat unless it's a baby sip (bc I'm a teacher and it's so humid in the building.) and I time myself so I'm not drinking too quickly after. When I do decide to eat, I'm not making bad choices, I'm doing protein,  and I'm only eating 6 maybe 7 times a day. I guess I'm just nervous. Do we start to get a little more hungry and eat more? I don't go to my 3 month appt until June 26th so I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Are you taking a PPI like Nexium, or Prilosec?  Stomach acid can mimic hunger.  

Are you sure you are not experiencing head hunger?  It can be pretty confusing.  Head hunger is more like craving a certain food.  With real hunger anything will do to satisfy your hunger.  Thirst can present like hunger too.  Try drinking more fluids when you think you feel hunger.

Many people confuse stomach gurgling for hunger pangs.  Our new plumbing makes A LOT of noise.  This gurgling has nothing to do with hunger.  It's really your intestines objecting to the undigested food entering into them.  

It is normal to be able to eat more the further out you get.  It sounds like you are doing everything right so just stick to your plan, follow the rules, and you will lose weight.

Are you drinking enough liquids?  When you start to feel hungry too soon, start drinking (make sure it's 30-45 mins after you eat though).  This helps me in between meals.  xoxo
